Everybody Loves Raymond
aired from 1996 to 2005 and I don't think we missed an episode. The characters in this show just seem to fit so well together and complement each others comedic skills. As Ray played by (Ray Romano) would always be in some kind of trouble or disagreement with his wife Debra played by (Patricia Heaton). Everybody Loves Raymond
Most of the situations were based on real life experiences of the writers and Romano himself. I saw a special interview one time with the writing staff of the show, as they sat around a table and discussed their own real-life experiences and then turned them into an episode for the show.
Ray is sports writer living with his wife Debra and three children, Ally and twin boys Gregory and Matthew. Ray's parents Marie and Frank Barone live across the street with Raymond’s brother Robert. Ray constantly make light of every situation.
Frank played by (Peter Boyle) was my favorite character, as his sarcastic remarks added to so much of the humor for me. When Frank entered the room I was always on the edge of my seat just waiting to hear what he was going to say next.
Marie played by (Doris Roberts) would constantly pick on Debra's cooking, cleaning and parenting skills, as Marie let everybody know that everything she did was perfect. Marie favored Raymond over his brother Robert, played by (Brad Garrett) who always felt left out. Robert was always jealous of the attention that Marie gave to Raymond.
The show aired for nine complete seasons and had many Emmy nominations. If you need a good laugh pick up a copy today and enjoy.
Here is another classic show that was ahead of its time.
