FAMILY WEEKEND SOUNDTRACK & Florence the Machine, Paul Simon & The Hoosiers Songs in the Movie's Trailer

Updated on July 23, 2013

Director Benjamin Epps

Since we can't get enough of Kirstin Chenoweth on her sporadic pop appearances on Glee, The Good Wife or when she shows up on Ellen or hosting award shows, the multi-talented Tony award winner can be next seen in the movie Family Weekend formerly titled Queen Freak.

No word yet if Chenoweth will be singing or contributing any songs to the Family Weekend Soundtrack as it seems unlikely the black comedy is also a musical. Composers Russ Howard III & Mateo Messina worked on the movie's score with Evan Goldman contributing additional arrangements. Music Supervisor is Jenée DeAngelis.

If you're wondering about the song in the Family Weekend movie trailer with the lyrics "there's a hole in your logic", it's by The Hoosiers. Paul Simon's famous guitar strums from "Me & Julio Down by the Schoolyard" serve as background riffs along with the ubiquitous track "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence the Machine which as also used for another soul searching movie, Eat Pray Love.

Family Weekend directed by Benjamin Epps stars Olesya Rulin Greek, Kristin Chenoweth GCB, Pushing Daisies, Matthew Modine The Dark Knight Rises, Full Metal Jacket, Joey King Crazy, Stupid, Love, Eddie Hassell The Kids Are Alright and surprise, surprise, a guest appearance by one of our favorite mothers of all time, the Partridge Family's Shirley Jones Oklahoma, The Music Man, Carousel.

Family Weekend was first released as as an on demand video release February 28, 2013 then was released in a limited number of theaters in the U.S. on March 29, 2013 before being released on DVD and on demand on April 23, 2013. It's now available to watch instantly on

Look for Mathew Modine as John Sculley in Jobs which stars Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs in this highly anticipated biopic which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013. No U.S. release date has been announced just yet but the movie is first being launched overseas in France & Hong Kong June 5 & 6, 2013.
