Fans fighting for a Xena Movie

Updated on October 17, 2016

Fans want a Xena movie!

Last year,a group was formed on Facebook. Of course groups come and go on Facebook all the time: this group, however, has a purpose and has grown to over 30,000 people so far. Fans of the fantasy TV series "Xena - Warrior Princess" unite to fight for a Xena movie to be made. Are you a fan of Xena? Then join us - every member counts: the more people join the fight, the better our chance to be heard is! You have never heard of Xena before? Then you will also find some information about Xena on this page. It is never too late to become a fan of this fantastic series.

I, personally, have been a fan of Xena since it was first screened. I followed the adventures of Xena every Sunday and just could not get enough of it. I now live in the country where the series was filmed and would love all the action to return here. If you love fantasy, e.g. "Lord of the Rings" and "Legend of the Seeker", you should check out Xena as well. Interesting that all of the best fantasy series and movies are filmed in the same country!

If you are a fan of Xena, please leave comments in the guestbook and join the group!

The Most Important Thing

If we want a Xena movie - we all have to stick together. The more people join the campaign, the better the chances are that we get noticed.

Trouble ahead! - If you get one of those looks, you know you're in trouble

Lucy Lawless and her many faces: fans want her back in the role that made her famous.

My tribute to Lucy

Who is "Xena"

From Wikipedia:

"Xena is a fictional character from Robert Tapert's Xena: Warrior Princess franchise. She first appeared in the 1995–1999 television series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, before going on to appear in Xena: Warrior Princess TV show and subsequent comic book of the same name. The character has also appeared in the spin-off animated movie The Battle for Mount Olympus, as well as numerous non-canon expanded universe material, such as books and video games. Xena was played by New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless, although the original choice was the british actress Vanessa Angel. She commonly wore a tight brown, skirted, leather outfit.

Xena is the protagonist of the story, and the series depicts her quest to seek redemption for her past sins as a ruthless warlord by using her formidable fighting skills to help people. Xena was raised as the daughter of Cyrene and Atrius, though the episode The Furies raised the possibility that Ares, might be Xena's biological father. In Hercules, during her two first episodes, Xena was an outlaw, but in the third (and last), she joins Hercules to defeat Darphus, who had taken her army. Aware that the character of Xena had been very successful among the public, the producers of the series decided to create a spin-off series based on her adventures.

The character Gabrielle, introduced in the first episode, becomes Xena's greatest ally; her initial naïveté helps to balance Xena and assists her in recognizing and pursuing the "greater good"."

@lasertek lm: Hello :) Yes, we would all love to see a movie. Lucy Lawless would also love to have a Xena movie, so we just have to make Universal see that there'd be money in a movie.

@TeacherSerenia: Hi! Thank you for your comment. I think I'd actually have to re-watch Hercules as I haven't seen it for ages. However, I'll always prefer Xena because Lucy Lawless is one of my favourite people of all time ;)

I liked Xena but I loved Hercules. I loved the banter and the friendship between Hercules and Iolaus, Funny chats and banter between 2 girls is just not as funny as banter between 2 guys. IMO

I have seen Xena series in the early 90's and I have been a fan since. I like the action scenes and the story. It would be nice to have a movie.
