Best movie or short story about tricky court cases ?
Do you know any movie or short story rendering the interesting court cases ?
Why limit yourself to those two alternatives? Short attention span? How about novels? Lots more of those.
I would say 12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda for one, The Accused could be another or Presumed Innocent or one of my favourites, Runaway Jury with John Cusack
To Kill a Mockingbird is a good oldie but goodie with great acting and storylines.
