I love all genre of music, and I am often inspired by music alone to write, are you?

Yes I am. I am constantly listening to music and many of my hubs are directly about music and are influenced by the music I am listening to. At times even a non music hub as been inspired by a song or a lyric as well.

Hi spartucusjones, I knew you would be the first one to pop in, as you are a music lover indeed, with a wealth of knowledge about all genre of music.  Yes, I am inspired by music to write a non music hub.  Thanks for the great answer.

I sure am inspired by music in my writing Faith.  I love music and it moves me and spurs and motivates me to write.  Many of my hubs have Youtube music videos included.  I especially love acapella music.

Hi mekenzie, thanks for answering.  Oh, yes, acapella is most beautiful to the ears and very inspiring.

Many of my first poems were written and named for songs. I had a singing, musical mother and although our interests differed I guess I was born loving music. In grade school I won every dance contest I entered. Music is just all about life (well most of it) and even the bible said to pay the singers didn't it? Or is that musicians? Still...same thing to me.

Hi Jackie, thanks for the interesting answer here.  I can just picture you out there dancing.  Yes, indeed, music is all about life.  Same.  God bless.

I love music, but it doesn't really inspire me to write.  I do play it for background affect while I write.  I love that you are inspired to write through music, nice way to motivate the writing juices.

Thanks teaches, yes music is also lovely as background affect.  I just thought of this on my drive home while listening to music, and then an idea of a hub came to my mind.  Just republished an older hub as it needed updating is why I am so late.

At least half of my Hubs are about music, so obviously it's a big thing for me! I'm a total music nerd, I am a fanatical CD collector (yes, record labels -- some people actually STILL buy CDs! Haha) and I love reading books & magazines to pick up bits of useless trivia about my favorite bands/artists.

Hi FatFreddysCat, I love your hub name.  You sound just like my husband with the music and CDs, and yes some of us actually still by CDs!  Thanks for the cool answer.

I agree Faith.  I often sit here listening to music and get a thought about something I want to write about.  Musicians, like writers and artists are inspired by life and they pass it on in their craft.  We just have to listen, don't we?

I have a tendency to block out everything around me while writing, so it really doesn't matter much.  I will admit to listening to Jazz (Ronnie Laws, Freddie Hubbard, Bob James, etc.) when my wife goes to bed and I need to chill a little before starting.  I'm not a big Classical fan, but have listened to it upon occasion to get in the mood.  Vocals tend to be a distraction, as I've found a few words from songs in my writings that had no business being there, simply because I may have heard them in the songs playing.  The only exception to that I've found is when putting on the Blind Boys Of Alabama.  Any other time, it can be anything from Within Temptation to Martina McBride playing in the house.

Thanks RC for the awesome answer here.  I know you love your music.  I really can't listen to music with vocals while trying to write, but maybe while driving down the road and hearing a song, it will inspire me to think of something to write.

I love any music that touches something inside me and I love books. After reading the bittersweet story about musician and his music, I have written this hub listening to music described in the book. It was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had...
