I liked themes that used on the series The Green Hornet; Emergency; Dr. Who.
1. Gomer Pyle, 2. Twilight Zone,& Laverne & Shirley, they had a good theme song too.
I hated the show Laverne and Shirley but I always thought the theme song great. Loved the use of Jazz to beef up the original Twilight Zone theme music.
"Surprise! Surprise Surprise!" That's what Gomer used to say played by Jim Nabors. He had a great voice too.
Yep! So I take it I'm Gomer Pyle's long suffering sergeant Carter. Strangely enough, I can live with that. Ha!
This is tough. I'd have to say Skippy the Bush Kangaroo because you have the beautiful bush setting I knew and loved as a kid plus the galloping music, the first Doctor Who because of the haunting and innovative electronic music and use of what was then strange electronic visuals (I think they used a feedback loop to fantastic effect), Get Smart because of the wonderful use of those bizarre doors and the music gallops along nicely too.
So we have Skippy (Australia.) Doctor Who (Britain) and Get Smart (USA).
Now If I was only looking at Australia I'd say Skippy, the original Homicide of the '60s and A Country Practice.
Now if I was only looking at Britain I'd say Doctor Who, New Tricks and Ballykissangel.
Now if I was only looking at the USA I'd say Get Smart, The Green Hornet and Dexter.
Oh gosh, I've never seen Skippy! Now you have me very curious about it.
Yes Jodah very catch. The guy who sang the opening song to New Tricks is actually one of the grumbling old ex-coppers in the show. The one with the ex-wives who remain the loves of his life.
Now who out there does not remember the theme song from Batman and Robin?
da-da-da-da-da-da-da-Batman!!!
Okay, the words may have been a little lacking, but it sure stuck in your mind. Kind of like that last song on the radio in the morning. It doesnt have to be good, just repeated over and over.
That's a tough one, bethperry. There are so many I love. My first is "Cheers," then "The Brady Bunch," and I must add "Superman." Do you remember that one?
"Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap buildings in a single bound, look . . up in the sky . . it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman . . ." (I actually know the whole thing which is so strange and geeky)
I'd also have to add "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," and "The Partridge Family."
Adventures of Superman did have a great opening. I like the send-up movies of The Brady Bunch a lot more than I did the show. I really like the end of prohibition clips in the Cheers opening.
It was '...able to leap TALL buildings...' and 'it's - Superman!'
Adventures of Superman was the name of the show.

What is your favorite television series and why?My favorite is House, M.D. Not only is Hugh Laurie totally hot for a middle-aged man, but the show is filled with mystery, suspense, humor, drama, sarcasm, and a lot of twists and spins that make you think.

Who is the best Mom and/or Dad in a television series or film? This may sound like a silly question, but my son recently told me he referred to me as a particular film Mom to his friends; I won’t say which one, but I was flattered. (And no, it wasn’t June Cleaver.) Who do you think was...

My three favorites are, in order: 1. Heroes2. Farscape3. FireflySomething I really enjoyed about these three is that each episode follows and builds on the previous episodes. Some series like "Star Trek" do not always do that... excepting the development of personal relationships. What...
