Why no mainstream love for real house music?

Hey guys! This question is for those of you, like me, who like house music---that good old fashioned late-1980s/1990s, underground garage stuff! Why isn't this thoroughly bangin' music more popular? Why doesn't it enjoy more widespread, mainstream dissemination? Is there even a music channel on cable devoted to house, lounge, trance, and so forth? Is there even a radio station devoted to it, even now? Why don't we get it on the mainstream MTV channels? Am I the only one whose bothered by this? Thanks.

I've only heard housey-type beats and riffs knitted into pop songs eg. Lady Gaga. Maybe that's where it's gone to? Obviously, a thinned down version... I guess ultimately, it's just not musical enough :-))  My preferred beat from the past is psychedelic trance (which makes some house seem too heavy or cheesy). There's an internet psychedelic trance radio, 24h, if you take a look (well, there was 4 years ago, might still be there)
