I am NOT a Jim Carrey fan. Yes, you heard me right! So believe me when I say that this movie is ‘belly-hurting’, ‘feet-stomping’, ‘eyes-full-of-water’ GOOD!!!

Let me tell you my story. I usually never watch Jim Carrey movies because I find his antics too over exaggerated. One day, however, a new friend of mine and I planned to go to the cinema (movies) on the weekend and we were trying to decide which movie to watch. She insisted on seeing Jim Carrey’s movie ‘Fun with Dick and Jane’ and claimed that, from what she knew of me thus far, I would absolutely love this movie. I agreed to go and even jokingly told her that if I didn’t like the movie she would have to refund me the cost of the cinema (movie) ticket. So at her insistence, I went along with all expectations that I would be tortured for one and a half hours.

In the end, I think my friend enjoyed seeing me relishing the movie more than she enjoyed the actual movie.I was holding my stomach and laughing (you know when you laugh so hard that your stomach hurts), wiping tears as they rolled down my face (tears of joy of course), shaking her all through the movie (that’s what I do when I get really excited) because it was soooo good (I am actually smiling as I write this). And that’s not all! I even went out and bought my own DVD copy of the movie ‘Fun with Dick and Jane’ afterwards, as a keepsake to watch again from time to time.

The plot was great! The situations that this married couple, Dick and Jane Harper, (fantastically played by Jim Carrey and Ta Leoni) found themselves in were hilarious but through all of it you could sense the realness of the situations which did face some people after the fall of the dot com companies and the financial crisis or which may well face persons in any ‘bust or bear’ period that follows an economic boom.

I must say that this is the BEST Jim Carrey movie so far and his best acting yet!!! If you haven’t seen it, run out, get it and watch it when your neighbours aren’t around because they might think you’re going crazy.

I don't normally care for him, though I did love "The Grinch" so I'm going to have to check this out.

@sousababy: See, I at least liked one of your favourite comedian's comedies :)) I liked it so much that maybe it will make up for all the others I did not like.

Oh, I have many "favorite comedians" - Jim Carrey is one of them. I thought he was terrific in Dumb and Dumber, actually.
