How to Dress Like Gamora
Gamora is the strong-willed heroine of Marvel's wildly popular blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. Looking to create a Gamora costume for a Halloween party, convention or other event? This detailed, step-by-step guide has you covered! Here you'll find photos of Gamora's Guardians wardrobe and budget-savvy ideas for creating an instantly recognizable outfit. Regardless of whether you want to dress in Gamora's out-of-this-world black leather, yellow prison outfit or red Nova flight uniform, much of this heroine's look can be pulled together from your closet (or with a little help from Amazon).
Black Leather Vest & Pants
When we first meet Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, she wears a flattering, figure-hugging black leather-esque ensemble that's both threatening and seductive.
The green-skinned alien assassin's wardrobe here consists of an angular black vest with a plunging neckline and cut-out sides layered with fine black mesh and criss-crossed straps, a black collar stamped with honeycomb-like metal hexagons, tight black pants with multiple thigh straps and triple-buckled knee-high black boots. The material on both the vest and pants features an otherworldly blue reptilian accent.
Additional accessories worn by Gamora include fingerless black gloves and an intricate hip gun holster with a silver buckle.

Yellow Prison Uniform
When Star-Lord and co. end up in The Kyln, an intergalactic high-security prison that houses the galaxy's most notorious criminals, Gamora's black leather costume is exchanged for a yellow inmate uniform.
Gamora's Kyln uniform is easily the least complicated Guardians costume you could put together. Start with a pair of classic yellow scrubs and alter to the level of authenticity you desire. The most notable elements of this costume would be the sleeveless top's high square neckline and the unique bar code-like print on the left thigh of Gamora's pants.
Yellow Prison Uniform
This pair of butter yellow scrubs is the perfect foundation for a Gamora prison costume. Plan your escape from The Kyln with a needle, some thread and a little black fabric paint.
Red Ravagers Garb
After deciding to fight to save Nova, the Guardians don a variety of red leather-esque outfits referred to by the film's costume designer, Alexandra Byrne, as "Ravager garb."
Unfortunately, nothing as futuristic and unique as Zoe Saldana's actual movie wardrobe exists on the internet -- at least not for cheap. Your best bet to recreate this Ravager look is to start with a maroon jacket, preferably one made of faux leather, and DIY from there.
Gamora Hair & Makeup Tutorials
Purple-Streaked Hair & Green Skin
Gamora's hair and makeup are the two most essential elements of any Guardians costume featuring this no-nonsense assassin. In the movie, Gamora has long black hair with deep purple-maroon accents. Her skin is a luscious bright green.
For girls with black or dark brown hair, temporary fuschia dye and a curling iron will give you the perfect Gamora look. However, if your hair isn't naturally as dark as Gamora's or you don't want to temporarily dye your locks, opting for a wig is your best bet for an authentic Guardians costume.
Since most Gamoras probably won't have access to Zoe Saldana's talented makeup team or professional airbrushing equipment, high-quality body paint is the way to go. There are loads of Gamora makeup tutorials floating around the internet but I've featured my two favorites here!
For less than $25, this wig comes pre-styled with the correct fuschia color and curly texture.
This little green bottle of body paint comes with stellar reviews, nearly all of which applaud Liquitex's opaque and long-lasting formula.
