Geoffrey and George - cartoon giraffes

Updated on December 17, 2012

Origins

Created by me, Andrew Douse, geoffrey & george began in 1995 in the first year of my Visual Communication Degree at U.C.E in Birmingham. Whilst doing a project with a tutor who wouldn't let anyone leave the studio until they had had at least 50 ideas, I was using giraffes in an Illustration of a Beatles lyric (I can't remember what the song was...?), but not being one to sit still for long I got verrrrry restless and started cartooning instead. By the end of the afternoon geoffrey and george were basically there, albeit a bit thinner and less expressive.

Over the time since then they have developed alongside My Illustration style into over 150 cartoons, most of which are very specific to a time and person, the rest of which are on their website. They've been on the Web since 2000, at geoffreyandgeorge.co.uk and are now on t-shirts at cafepress.

Reindeer Cards - A bit late (and not giraffes) but seasonal nevertheless.

Weird Gallery - A selection of the more surreal geoffrey and george cartoons.
