SUNGHA JUNG - The Makings of a Guitar Hero

Magic Fingers

“Any problem you can't solve with a good guitar, is either, unsolvable or isn't a problem.” - Joan Jeff

I played different kinds of instruments. The school I went to required each of its students to learn a musical instrument at each elementary grade level. There were seven grade levels. I fell in love with the guitar.

As far as I can recall, I broke five guitars. I practiced whenever I had a chance. But unfortunately, my playing never improved beyond the strumming of a dozen chords and the croaking of a caveman.

I was quite lucky my father didn't whacked the guitar on my head every time I played "Hot Cross Buns". The guitar was good but the problem was me. And that problem is unsolvable. As my brother used to say, "Bro you should have stuck with the castanets or the maracas".

In comes a kid, Sungha Jung, that plays the way I should have played had Faith bestowed on me a grain of talent. Well he did practice a lot. He isn't tone deaf like me. His father was a musician (my father was an engineer-fireman). He had everything to make him a guitar hero.

Watch and listen to the magic of his fingers. He is indeed a wonder to behold.

There is a kid named baylor josephson who lives in a little apartment complex around the corner from where I live. Although I have no videos or recorded music of him, he is just as good as sungha if not better. I actually bought him his first guitar (his family is kind of poor) because of what he could do on my son's guitar. He likes to arrange music, just like sungha, he writes music just like sungha, he does percussive acoustic, just like sungha, he plays classical music, just like sungha, he looks up to andy mckee and tony emanuel, just like sungha. Him and this kid would be good friends. If he had a camera and a youtube acount he could easily be just as popular.
