It doesn't seem like a Halloween if i don't' get a chance to watch my favorite cartoon movies. When i was kid CN (cartoon network) used to air Halloween special cartoons all day. Now things are changed and they started airing funny cartoons instead of scary cartoons.But thanks to internet i have managed to pull up some movies from amazon, Netflix especially for this day. I have good collection of some of the classic cartoons in Halloween theme. Some of them are such rare that they're hardly available online or in VHS shops. I have listed some of the classic halloween cartoon movies which are made specifically on the halloween theme. Some are fun, some scary, rest of them are just worth watching on halloween day.
Halloween Is Grinch Night
If you like Dr.Seuss characters and stories then you're going to love Grinch. There two different stories of Grinch which are famous - It's Grinch night which is based on Halloween and another which is on Christmas.
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Based on peanut comics, this movie is about Linus and his Halloween adventure. It's old classic Halloween movie which is still popular. Definitely worth a watch !
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
If you've never watched movie of Wallace & Gromit then you need to watch this one. Good thing about Wallace & gromit is that they show a lot of interesting concepts with the help of animation.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
It's set of three classic stories. You'll find these stories a bit scary. Three stories are in following order - The legend of sleepy hollow,The wind in the willows and Lonesome Ghost.
Coraline
Coraline is released in 3D and Non 3D version. If you like watching watching paper animation style 3D movies then Coraline is something you'll enjoy. Story is different and definitely worth to watch on this day.
The Halloween Tree
It's hard to find DVD of this movie online. If you get it then it's worth watching. Story is very interesting and you'll remember this cartoon movie even after Halloween.
James and the Giant Peach
This story is interesting and definitely suits the Halloween season. Story is about a boy who escaped his aunt and find life with his insect friends. A must watch cartoon for those who like Halloween theme cartoon.
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
This movie is not that scary but you'll laugh more than can get scared. Story is quite different and funny too. You will find 3D animation is also less annoying compared to the new 3D animated movies.
Nicktoons - Halloween - Tales of Fright
Nick TV has it's set of cartoons for this day. There are not much serious scary stories in it. To be honest i never found this DVD interesting so skip it if you like serious scary stories.
Disney's once upon a Halloween
It's better not to disclose story of this or else you'll get bored. It has some good mix of all Disney characters for Halloween theme. Enough said.

There are three sets of Halloween DVD collection. First set is packed with classic cartoons on Halloween theme. Next two sets are more geared towards fun in Halloween theme. So if you want to buy then it's better if you get first set of DVD.
The Nightmare before Christmas
This movie is stop-motion based animation which shows an interesting story about Christmas. Though it's more suitable for Christmas theme but the scary part of it makes it valuable addition to Halloween movie theme.

Do you remember old clay animation movies ? Yes, this is another clay animation based movie on halloween theme. I kinda like the background soundtrack of this movie.
Witch's Night Out
Animation is not that impressive but that aside you'll enjoy the story. I wish there comes another 2D remake of this story.
The Witch who turned pink
There is nothing like classical animation with excellent art. This movie has story, cool animation and voice. You'll like this movie for sure.
Archie's Weird Mysteries - Halloween Horror
Entire series of weird mysteries seems to have spooky episodes. But this one is made specially for the Halloween. If you're into Archie comics then you'll find this episode and the series entertaining.
Duck Tales - Ducky Horror Picture Show
This episode of duck tales is Halloween special. There isn't much spooky stuff in there but you know the duck tales stories, they're fun to watch.
It's the Great Pumpkin - Life and Times of Juniper Lee
Juniper lee is adventurous teen girl who solves mysteries and deals with monsters. This time she helps monster parents to get their kids out of human form back into monster form.
It's Punky Brewster - Halloween Howlers
This is classic animation video with art probably in early TV days. Punky Brewster didn't get much attention due to it's slow moving story lines. But their Halloween episodes is much better and kids wil surely love it.
The Bernstein Bears - The spookiest Pumpkin
There are more than one episode on Halloween theme from Bernstein bears series. The one i remember was about papa bear who obsess for pumpkin carving and keeping it safe.
Pound Puppies - Ghost Hounds
Series is based on adventures of little puppies and their parents. This time they're dealing with the ghost hound on the day of Halloween.
