Bollywood Hindi Movie released in July 2012

Updated on June 19, 2013

June 2012 saw one of the big hits of the year “Rowdy Rathore” produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala. It was biggest grosser for Akshay Kumar, its hero. After giving string of flops in 2011, Akshay Kumar has given two hits this year. Rowdy Rathore turning out to be biggest hit of his career. Rowdy Rathore is now the fourth highest Box Office Collector, with Rs.130 crores+ business in India after its 3rd week.

Ferrari Ki Sawaari released on 15 June has done fairly good at the box office. Though it was not a money spinner, but still got review and the audiences appreciated the movie and get fairly decent collection at the BO.

“Teri Meri Kahaani”, another release in June (on 22nd) turning out be a flop at the box office and most cinema halls and multiplexes across India are reporting dismissal reports at Box Office collection. The fate of the 7 June release “Sanghai” is much similar, as it did not fared up to the expectations. “Gangs Of Wasseypur” gain critics appreciation, but failed provoke general public attention.

What to look forward in July 2012? Couple of high expectation movies are to release in July 2012. Many of the Hindi movies releasing this July is comedy in genre. The first movie schedule to release in July is Bol Bachchan on 6th of July.

Bol Bachchan on 6 July 2012

Bol Bachchan has Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn in the main lead along with female leads Prachi Desai and Asin. The expectation from “Bol Bachchan” is very high because of its director Rohit Shetty. Rohit Shetty has given back to back hits – one after the other – like trilogy Golmaal (2006), Golmaal returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and more recently Singham (2012). Interestingly Singham (2012) and Golmaal 3 (2010) find place in top ten grosser in India.

Amitabh Bachchan makes special appearance in the title song of the movie. Archana Puran Singh (judge of “Comedy Circus” TV Show) and Krishna Abhishek (participant, “Comedy Circus”) got play small roles in the movie. (Rohit Shetty judged “Comedy Circus” for 2 seasons in the past)

I am eagerly awaiting for this movie. For me, it is always First Day First Show for all Rohit Shetty movies.

Update (7 July 2012):

Punjabi film 'Jatt & Juliet' in the north and Telugu Film "Eega‬" in the south are giving though time to Bol Bachchan. On the first day, "Bol Bachchan" collected Rs.12.10 Crores (1 Crore = 10 Millions) @ Indian Box Office.

Cocktail on 13 July 2012

Cocktail is schedule to release on 13 July. Saif Ali Khan’s home production, starring himself and Deepika Padukone in the main lead, supported by Randeep Hoods, Boman, Dimple Kapadia and Diana Penty. The movie is rom-com based on the confusion between friendship and love.

This is very important film for Saif Ali Khan. As Aamir, Salman and Akshaya have delivered box office success in their recent outing, it is the turn of Saif Ali Khan to delivery success at the box office. The movie is releasing a week after “Bol Bachchan”. If “Bol Bachchan” turned out be blockbuster, then “cocktail” will have to face the heat. There is equal buzz on the releasing of Bol Bachchan and Cocktail. It has to be seen which one win the race at the box office.
