District 12 Bakery & Reaping Clothes - Peeta's District 12 bakery uniform and reaping outfit from The Hunger Games
A few years before the 74th Hunger Games, Peeta tossed chunks of burnt bread to a starving Katniss. That act of kindness is a defining moment for the star-crossed lovers from District 12, which makes it a recognizable Hunger Games costume.
Peeta's bakery look is simple and inexpensive to recreate. The most essential piece of this look is a white full-length apron. Since Peeta works hard for his family's business, his clothes wouldn't be squeaky clean. Use coffee to add a few well-placed stains to your t-shirt and apron then complete your costume with a blackened loaf of bread.
If you're not a fan of the bakery look, Peeta's reaping outfit is another easy Hunger Games costume. Peeta's reaping clothes look more like something out of the 1950s than the far-away future. Rather than purchasing a freshly pressed light gray button-up shirt and dark gray slacks, head to the nearest secondhand shop, such as Goodwill or Salvation Army, and pick up something vintage.
This 100% cotton full-length apron is perfect for tight-budgeted Peetas and features two front pockets and an adjustable neck strap. Fold down the top half of the apron and tie it around your waist over a tight white crew-neck t-shirt and brown slacks.
These charcoal slacks are inexpensive and well-suited to a Hunger Games-inspired costume.

Tribute Parade Costume - Peeta Mellark's tribute parade outfit from The Hunger Games
While parading down the Avenue of the Tributes with the Girl on Fire, Peeta dons a similarly eye-catching costume complete with a flared collar and tall black boots. The cheapest way to pull off this look is by pairing a shiny black jacket, preferably one with a snakeskin pattern, with a pair of tight black jeans. Cover yourself in glitter and slick back your hair to add detail to your Hunger Games parade costume.
This slick jacket actually only costs $15 if you order a size between xx-small and medium.
Black Interview Suit - Peeta's pre-games interview suit from The Hunger Games
Though far less flashy than Katniss' fiery red gown, Peeta's pre-Games interview suit sparks a fire all its own with bright red flame details. Don't have a black blazer already on hand? No worries! Simply opt for a black sateen button-up and tight black slacks instead. This swap will save you a little extra cash without downgrading your look.
This black sateen button-up mimics the shine and style of Josh Hutcherson's interview outfit and is available in a range of sizes.
Like Peeta's interview pants, these fashionable bacl Levi's are slim-fitting with a slight sheen.
Adhere these flame decals to the cuffs of your button-up to recreate the fire on Peeta's costume.

Training Center Uniform - Peeta Mellark's training uniform from The Hunger Games
Though modeled by a girl, the official training center uniform shirt released by Lionsgate fits guys just as well. Pair yours with some black, striped athletic pants and brown leather boots.
If the official uniform shirt is sold out, DIY your look with a black v-neck t-shirt and plain black yoga pants. Use fabric paint to add a thick silver stripe and thin red stripe to the side of your outfit.
Add authenticity to your costume by using face paint to transform your forearm into tree bark. Why? Peeta shows off his artistic side -- a skill that saves his life more than once -- while training for the Hunger Games in the Capitol.
For a truly authentic training center costume, order Lionsgate's official Hunger Games District 12 training shirt.
This camouflage paint kit contains all of the basic colors you'll need to recreate Peeta's tree bark design.
Hunger Games Arena Uniform - Peeta Mellark's arena costume from The Hunger Games
Peeta Mellark's Hunger Games uniform is undoubtedly his most-recognizable look. Lucky for budget-wary Peetas, most of what you'll need to create this costume probably already exists in your closet, making this an inexpensive (and easy!) DIY costume option for guys with limited time or cash.
To start, throw on a simple black crew-neck t-shirt and a pair of olive green or light brown cargo pants. While in the arena, Peeta hides in the mud after getting attacked by Cato. Add scratches and mud stains to your own costume using sandpaper, scissors and coffee or dark brown fabric dye.
Add a hooded black jacket then tuck your cargo pants into a pair of rugged black or dark brown ankle boots, lace them tight around your ankles and leave the upper flaps open to recreate the boy with the bread's arena look. If your jacket doesn't come with reflective stripes like Peeta's, use silver safety tape to add detail to the shoulders and sleeves.
If you're dressing up as a star-crossed couple with your own Girl on Fire, carry a satchel of berries to add extra detail to your costume.
This lightweight black jacket is an exact replica of the one worn by Josh Hutcherson in the Hunger Games movie.
This simple crew-neck shirt is cheap enough to warrant some serious arena-worthy distressing.
Lots of 4- and 5-star reviews recommend these comfortable, classic fit cargo pants, which are available in a wide range of lengths and widths.
These boots feature a simple buckle pattern similar to the shoes worn by Peeta in the Hunger Games movie. Sizes range from 7.5 to 13.
