I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love on Vinyl

Updated on September 6, 2014

Vinyl Releases of I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love

I love record collecting. I love collecting rare records. And I love bands that make something for their fans to collect. My Chemical Romance is one of those bands that releases stuff for their fans to collect. Over the years they have released numerous unique editions of their albums. Their very first album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, has been released on five different colors of vinyl. I've managed to collect them all and am excited to show off my collection.

I Brought You My Bullets... on Red Vinyl

I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love was first released in 2009 on red vinyl (this was in lieu of releasing it on black vinyl - there is no standard black vinyl edition of this album). There were 900 copies pressed. This edition is very easy to find.

I Brought You My Bullets... on White Vinyl

The first rare edition to be released was white vinyl. It was released in 2009 along with the red edition. This is difficult to find. Only one hundred records were released on white vinyl.

I Brought You My Bullets... on Clear Vinyl

The clear vinyl edition of I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is a bit of a mystery. There was no word that a clear edition was supposed to be available, yet when people received their records in 2009 some of them were clear instead of red or white. It is unknown how many exist. This edition is very difficult to find.

I Brought You My Bullets... on Yellow Vinyl

In 2011 a couple of new editions of the album appeared on eBay. There was no real news of these new editions, but (*wink* coincidentally *wink*) they were released on My Chemical Romance's tenth anniversary. The album was released on yellow vinyl, with three hundred copies pressed.

I Brought You My Bullets... on Orange Vinyl

In 2011 an orange vinyl edition was also released. There were 208 copies of the orange version pressed. It would appear that these new editions of I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love were released by Eyeball Records (My Chemical Romance's first record label - they later moved to Warner Music), independent of My Chemical Romance and their current record label.

All of the above pictures are of my own personal collection, taken by me.

Look For I Brought You My Bullets... vinyl editions on Amazon

If you would like to find your own rare edition of this album then, in addition to checking eBay, you can also periodically check with Amazon. There are usually only red editions listed, but occasionally a rare edition is available. Check Amazon regularly if you would like to track down your own copy of a rare edition of ...Bullets...

Songs on I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love

My interpretation of the songs on this album

Romance

This is an instrumental song that has been around since at least the beginning of the twentieth century. It's a guitar piece that has been around for the past hundred years.

Honey This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Both of Us

It's common knowledge that this song is about drugs. The lyrics indicate that someone in a relationship has been offered an ultimatum to get clean or leave the relationship and they choose to leave the relationship. But towards the end of the song he seems to be rethinking the decision as the lyrics change from "it's hard to say I'm shaken" to "and I get a little shaken/ because I live my life like this."

What does Gerard Way have to say about this song? Warning: This video contains profanity.

Vampires Will Never Hurt You

The vampires in this song represent society in general. The song has a very "us against the world" feel and main character doesn't want himself or his companion to become a mindless drone in society.

Have you ever wondered what the whispering in this song says? On the lower right hand corner of the insert in the record for Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is written something that sounds like what is being whispered (for the most part - it seems like there is a little extra in there). It says:

"And it's always innocent, like a roller coaster fatality,
like ghosts in the snow. And you have no idea what
you're up against, because I've seen them and what
they look like, becoming perfect as if sterling CHAINS."

More to come later.
