Ida lupino

Ida Lupino - Actress, Director, TV Star

As a kid I loved to watch Ida Lupino. She seem to beautiful, graceful, elegiant. She had spunk usually getting what she wanted. I guess in many ways she probably wasn't the best roll model for a young lady growing up. But that's movies. I always enjoyed seeing what she would wear in her next performance.

Many shows I enjoyed she directed; shows such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone, The Donna Reed Show, Gilligan's Island, 77 Sunset Strip, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, The Rifleman, Bonanza, The Untouchables, The Fugitive, and Bewitched.

Lupino was the second woman to be admitted to the Director's Guild (following Dorothy Arzner). She earned two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ; one for her contributions to the fields of television and one for motion pictures.

Very nice tribute to Ida Lupino. I'm lensrolling to my lens about "The Trouble With Angels," which she directed.

Ida Lupino was a member of the oldest acting family in England. Going back about five centuries. He uncle Lupino Lane was a star of the London stage as were other members of Ida's family. I believe she was born under a kitchen table during a blitz in The Great War. I have always admired her.
