New Orleans, LA, United States (AHN) - Jean-Claude Van Damme did not suffer a heart attack while on the set of his new film "Weapon." The 50-year-old Muscles from Brussels action star has denied online reports that he has returned to his home in Belgium to recover.

According to the rumor, the film's production had been taking place in Romania until last week, when the whole crew flew to New Orleans for three days of shooting. But shortly after arriving, the production was put on hold when Van Damme suffered a minor heart attack.

He reportedly went back to Belgium to recover.

But as it turned out, Van Damme was in perfect health.

He wrote on his Facebook account, "Hours ago, I read a rumor online about me suffering heart attack!! Please, do not believe all what you read from rumors on any unofficial JCVD sites. Jean-Claude Van Damme is 100% healthy, training well for taking the fight and sending his fans & friends much love. - JCVD"

In "Weapon," Van Damme will play an assassin forced to work with a rival to bring down a drug cartel. It is slated to be released next year.

Jean Claude Van Damme Expendables 2

There was a disagreement between Sylvester Stallone and Jean Claude Van Damme as to what went down between the two action stars when Stallone offered JCVD a role in his blockbuster movie "The Expendables."

Stallone claims Van Damme simply turned down the offer. This is certainly plausible, as several other actors turned down roles in The Expendables including Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris, and Kurt Russell.

Not long after the news broke about Van Damme declining Stallone's offer, Jean Claude came out to the media and claimed that Stallone offered him money but not a true acting opportunity. Van Damme says he was concerned about his character and the lack of a storyline. Van Damme continued by saying Stallone told him not to worry about it and that he would be paid well.

For anyone that has seen The Expendables, this seems highly unlikely. But in all fairness, there are always two sides to every story.

Van Damme was one of my heroes back in the day. He disappeared off my radar for while, then he turned up in those hilarious Coors adverts and now he's my hero all over again lol. I hope there's a cheesy beer drinking scene in the expendables 2 :D
