Just The Facts
Just The Facts and Nothing More
Many of you will remember the popular TV show, Dragnet, staring Jack Webb. He was well know, during the show, to have made the statement, during an interview about a case, "Just the Facts Ma'am, Just the Facts". Do you ever wonder, if what you believe is the facts, really is the facts? My lens topic just came to me one evening and I wondered what could I find on the topic. There is lots out in the information world. The hardest thing is deciphering what is true fact and what is not.
Many time, when something important is passed around via e-mail, you will find the sender has stated he checked it out with Snopes.com. This organization is suppose to be the guru of "knowing if it is true". At least we have some source to take things to .
Recently Glenn Beck of Fox News, has centered his program around "the facts" regarding the Obama Administration and the new branches growing off that administration. Beck says we need to question with "boldness" what is happening in Washington. We need to ask questions, expect answers. We need to know the facts to such questions as: Can we survive the debt our country is developing? Who is writing all those bills? Will the bills be read before they are signed? What is the urgency? Who are these czars? Does Washington know that Van Jones the green czar, is a devowed Communist? These seems reasonable and fair questions to try and establish the facts.
My hope is that my lens will encourage people to question more and look for the facts as much as possible, and maybe while doing so, have some fun along the way. JUST REMEMBER, I REPORT, YOU DECIDE.
