An actress Keira Christina Knightley was born in Teddington, London, England on March 26th, 1985. Her mother, an actress turned playwright Sharman MacDonald, is of Scottish and Welsh descent and father, an actor Will Knightley, is English. Keira lived in Richmond and was attending Stanley Junior School, Teddington School, and Esher College.
Keira got her own agent when she was only six years old and her first role was Little Girl in a TV film Royal Celebration (1993). The first time when Knightley got her major part was in 1999 when she played Sabe in Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace. A smash hit Bend It Like Beckham (2002), the football-themed film, was a breakthrough for Knightley`s career, she earned worldwide recognition.
The first big-budget blockbuster movie of Keira Knightley was Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl (2003), which was filmed in Los Angeles and the Caribbean. It became the biggest hit of summer 2003. Knightley played the character of Elizabeth Swann, along with the pirate Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp and Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom. Lately, she played her role in 2006 and 2007 sequels.
Keira became the breakout star. She earned a Golden Globe nomination and an Oscar nomination for a screen adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The young actress was nominated for the Academy Award as the third-youngest performer ever!
2007 brought even more accolades for Keira, including Women`s Beauty Icon 2007. For her performance in Atonement, she won Best Actress at the Variety Club Of Great Britain Showbiz Awards, and also was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the Best Dramatic Actress category for her role as Cecilia Tallis.
Knightley received her second Academy Award nomination for Supporting Actress in historical WWII drama film The Imitation Game, where she played along with Cumberbatch.

The Imitation Game (2014)
Keira Knightley was nominated at the 87th Academy Awards for the Best Supporting Actress in a 2014 historical drama film The Imitation Game. The screenplay is based on the biography of the mathematician, cryptanalyst Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch), who helps crack the Enigma code in World War II.
The movie opens with the moment when Alan is arrested. The war is over, and even the fact that untold numbers of people were rescued, saved from death thanks to his work, his invention, is dismissed. His superiors are trying to get rid of him, can't stand that a gay man shortened the war for at least several years. This genius definitely deserved to get the recognition in his lifetime, but instead was tortured and died at an early age 41. Also, there are the episodes that show his youth in a British boarding school, where he is also treated cruelly. His friend and defender Cristopher has died at a young age. Later Alan names his machine the same name in his friend's honor.
The main part of the film is dedicated to the time when the Second World War broke to Britain. The enciphering Enigma machine is used by the German armed forces to send messages securely and the Nazis change the encoding every day. That means that even a group of professionals hasn't enough time to process the code. Alan works alone to create a machine that will provide a mechanical process of encryption of the Enigma code.Turing places a difficult crossword in newspapers in order to find people that can help him. Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley) is one of those, who passes the test. But she is a girl, so has to work with the female clerks who intercept Enigma messages. Alan shares all his plans with her...
Fascinating story, beautifully acted by the cast. We have to know more about our hero, the hero of the Second World War and the father of all computers.

Knightley earned a Best Actress nomination for her role in the drama Pride and Prejudice at the Academy Awards.The story is based on Jane Austen`s same called novel about five sisters (the Bennet family) whose lives are turned upside down after arriving of a young wealthy man (Mr. Bingley) and his even more rich and proud friend (Mr. Darcy) in their neighborhood, where they want to spend all summer. The Bennets aren't from an upper class, and if Mr. Bennet dies their house will be inherited by a distant cousin, whose name isn't even known to them. So the mother's main purpose in life is to find wealthy husbands for her daughters to make sure their family will be happy and secure.

This story of love unfolds in England around 1800. Big fans of the novel may complain this film is short, but as for such a long novel, this two-hour movie is great.

While Elizabeth is on the pirates` ship, Turner (Orlando Bloom) teams up with an extravagant pirate Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who is waiting for revenge against Barbosa.
