An Inspiring Drama about a Young Man's Struggle through Life
King of Baking, Kim Takgu (or The Baker King also known as Bread, Love and Dreams) is a 2010 South Korean drama about a young baker named Kim Takgu (played by Yoon Si Yoon) struggle through life being an illegitimate child of Gu Il Jong, the chairman of Geosung Foods Enterprise. He is very passionate in his love for baking. At such a tender age, he suffered homelessness when his mother was kidnapped by his father's wife. His unfailing determination to become number one in the baking industry drives him to rebuild his career from scratch despite the many trials he faces.
This Korean drama is aired on KBS2 Network with 30 episodes that last from June 09, 2010-September 16, 2010, directed by Lee Jung Sub, and written by Kang Eun Kyung.

Kim Tak Goo is the eldest son of Goo In Jong, the president of Samhwa Enterprise, a legend in the baking industry. Although he is an extremely talented baker and seemed destined to succeed his father as president, Goo In Jong's family plotted to rob him of his inheritance because he was born to In Jong's mistress. Tak Goo's determination to become number one in the baking industry drives him to rebuild his career from scratch despite the many trials he faces.

Yoon Si Yoon who plays the lovable lead character Kim Takgu is a South Korean actor. He made his debut in the sitcom High Kick Through the Roof! (season 2) (2009). His first screen appearance was in a variety show, Introducing A Star's Friend, as the friend of actor and F.T Island member Lee Hong Ki. He also starred in movies like Gosa / Death Bell 2 (2010), One Hundred Percent (2011).
Eugene/Kim Yoo-jin who plays Shin Yukyeong, Takgu's childhood sweetheart, is a South Korean actress and singer. She started as a singer in a Korean idol group SES in the late 1990's and early 2000's. After the girl group SES split in 2002, she appeared in numerous Korean dramas like Loving You, Save The Last Dance, Wonderful Life, and I Really, Really Like You. She also debuted as a film actress in Unstoppable Marriage in 2007 and Three Daddies and One Mommy in 2008. In 2010, she currently played Kim Takgu's love interest in King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo. She has also released solo albums.
Joo Won who plays Kim Takgu's conceited stepbrother Goo Ma Joon is a South Korean actor. He entered the School of Art taking up Theatre and Sungkyunkwan University (Film and Television). His acting debut being starred in King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo in 2010 KBS Network.
Lee Young Ah who plays Yang Misun, Takgu's baking partner and friend, is a South Korean actress. She is a North Gyeongsang native and pursue Physical Education Degree in Hanyang University. She starred in numerous television dramas like I Love You, My Enemy, The Youth in Bare Foot, Wedding, Golden Apple, Love Can't Wait, Golden Bride, Iljimae, Empress Chun Chun and King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo.
