Beth Hart - Popular Female Singers Today

Updated on May 29, 2012

Beth Hart is One of My All Time Favorite Singer-Songwriters

Beth Hart is one of my favorite popular female music artists. Most of the popular female singers today don't really float-my-boat. Beth Hart is different. Beth Hart's songs are very much like ballads that pertain to her life, and she is often compared to Janis Joplin. Beth Hart opens up her darkest, happiest, and angriest of emotions and shares her soul with her listeners, literally moving them. LA Song is just one of the many examples that I will give you.

Some people may find Beth's blatant honesty unflattering: I find it refreshing. I believe it takes a lot of courage to share your deepest and most forbidding things with the whole world. When you listen to her music you cannot help but be pulled into her life.

In this article you will find:

  • Some of Beth Hart's most emotionally charged music pulled together for your listening pleasure. A lot of it is is from Beth Hart-Paradiso Live.
  • Beth Hart tour section.
  • Beth Hart Biography section.
I hope that you love her as much as I do, and I do love her. (O;

Beth Hart-Paradiso Live Singing Mama - ~ Popular Female Singers: Beth Hart

This is probably my favorite. When I listen to this song I literally get chills that run all up and down my body.

I actually had my boyfriend sit down to watch this the other night. We played it from YouTube through his PS3. Before we were halfway through the song he was teary-eyed. That's not common for him.

Beth Hart Discovery - ~ Popular Female Singers: Beth Hart

I first heard Beth Hart on Star Search back in '93. I didn't ever watch Star Search. I just happened to be flipping through the channels when I heard someone singing. That someone was Beth Hart. I ended up watching the whole season of Star Search that year because Beth went to the end and won. I was so excited because I thought that she would for sure get signed and come out with an album.

It wouldn't be until years later -2000 I believe- that I would find her album "Screamin' for my Supper." I was on a day trip to Johnson City, TN and had stopped in a used CD store on a whim. I was so excited.

It would be another year or two before LA Song would become a frequently played song on the radio.

I haven't had the chance to see Beth live. I did have tickets for one of her shows at the Hard Rock in DC. My boyfriend and I drove out there but the show was canceled. I still hope to see her one of these days.

Beth Hart Biography - And Then More of Beth Hart-Paradiso Live

Beth Hart is from Pasadena, California. She is a proud Aquarius, which is probably why I am so drawn to her music.

She has been a music lover since she was a wee little thing. She was known for listing to classical music at a young age. As she grew older she became more interested in mainstream music.

She lost her father to prison at a very early age. When her father would get out her parents would divorce.

Beth got involved with alcohol and drugs in her teenage years. This turned into full blown abuse as she got older. She would work hard only to lose everything when her record label became aware of just how bad off she was. There she was with a hit song on the radio and appearances on shows such at the Tonight Show. She was truly on the verge of major success when she lost it all.

She has since hit her bottom and cleaned up. She went to rehab and ended up getting married to her manager Scott Guetzkow.

She still has bad days but she takes it a day at a time. For the most part she is extremely happy now.

It's also my first time discovery of Beth Hart and I think you made a real biography about her. No need to visit any other page, then :) You master your subject and it's a delight to listen to the music while reading the page!

@indigoj: Thank you for visiting, Nicki. I'm glad you found her interesting. I believe you are correct. I don't think that many people pull her strings.

I've been listening to her some more... I said I hadn't heard of her but her music definitely sounds familiar so maybe that's not true, I just didn't know the name. :) In a manufactured world, there is something very real and raw about her. You get the sense there's nobody pulling Beth's strings but Beth. Perhaps that's why she has such a powerful rapport with her fans. Easy to see why you admire her and her music so.

This was the first time I'd heard -- and heard of -- Beth Hart. She's clearly very talented, and it seems the rocky road of her younger years has been turned into passionate music. Powerful voice and love the fact that she plays her own music. I'll definitely listen out for more of her.
