Lorissa McComas

Updated on August 3, 2013

R.I.P. Lorissa

Lorissa McComas was one of the most beautiful women in the world and her life ended way too soon. The end of her life was tragic and shrouded in mystery. Originally ruled, or at least publicized as a suicide, many people have expressed a suspicion of foul play. The facts are hard to come by, but whatever her cause of death, Lorissa left her family, friends, and legion of fans to mourn her. Lorissa is considered an adult actress, and most of her work was mature but I will try to keep this lens PG, to PG 13 at the most. As far as I know she never did porn but did nude modeling and R rated films

Falling in love with Lorissa

It was hard not too. Lorissa was a beautiful woman. I came across her photos in my late teens and it was love. Such a beautiful face with a breathtaking smile and soulful eyes. Her legs would make a Greek goddess fill with envy, and her body, well to keep it PG let's say it was near perfection. If Helen of Troy could launch a thousand ships, Lorissa McComas could launch a thousand armadas.

I think I first found her on the internet. Just photos at first, my web connection was too slow, and streaming video, if it existed in the late 80s, early 90s, well I didn't know about it. I did download some videos at some point, mostly videos of her dancing, and I caught her in small roles in films. I did see one video clip that looked to cross the line into real porn, but the video made me feel bad after watching it. She didn't seem to be happy, actually she seemed scared. I put it off as just acting but it bothered me. Later on, much later, after I read about her death, I heard rumors she was coerced or forced into doing the video. Whatever she deserved much better.

She was supposedly moving away from adult fare and into more low budget but legitimate film. She had a small role in the remake of the cult classic Piranha. I think she had a chance to become a legitimate, if low budget actress. However the adult industry, even the soft core version,, tends to leave a taint on a person. It's hard to overcome and few do. Traci Lords is probably the best example of someone who did and it took years and people still bring up her past.

Lorissa never had that chance though. She lost her battle amid rumors of crippling illness, drug abuse, domestic abuse, child abuse, and the death of members of her family. It takes a strong person to survive and all this wore Lorissa down. Whether it was suicide, homicide, or natural causes, she lost that battle, and we are all diminished slightly by that loss.

This is not a place to investigate her death, but to celebrate and honor her life. All life is sacred, and in my mind she is still alive, still smiling. I love and miss you Lorissa, even though I never actually met you.

RIP beautiful lady

Some facts about Lorissa McComas

Lorissa was born November 26, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio

She died November 3, 2009

Lorissa's death is listed on IMDB as being in Melbourne, Florida but this, and her cause of death has been disputed by people who knew her. It seems likely her death was not natural causes and she may not have had RF Dystrophy. These however are not facts and I make no claim to knowing the full story.

She studied ballet as a child and began modeling in high school

She is missed by her fans

The Lorissa McComas letters

I originally intended to publish the letters directly to my blog, but then decided to publish here. Squidoo supposedly gets more traffic from google than my blog it seemed logical, with a link leading here from my blog anyone interested could find them. However I'm not crazy with the Squidoo photo gallery option and the photos are impossible to read completely. I will over the weekend publish them to my blog. I may eventually remove them from Squidoo and leave this as I first intended, as just a tribute to Lorissa.
