Sanity - A State of Mind

Let me just grab my hat and I'll be on my way.

A state of mind is like a dark cupboard, very spooky if you don't know what's in there. Worse too, if you keep hearing weird banging noises every once in a while.

OMG! Just stop talking. You're making me crazier than usual. And the banging? I can account for that. Oh yes, I can.

Ok then.

How To Tell If You Are Crazy

Well Then

Embrace the crazy. It is okay to be crazy. I hereby proclaim it. If permission is what you need, that is something you can give to yourself, permission to breathe air, permission to live, permission to be you.

I laugh about it; but depression is a serious and dangerous disease. Prosac works for me and I am ever so grateful.

The short days of winter have an effect as well.

A hard day at work or commuting can set off the depression alarm. Watch out for that circle of depressive thinking. When you see the circle, interrupt it at all cost. It might seem like a forever thing, but it is not.

Affirmations Can Help With Depression

Don't give up, try affirmations, they helped me. Affirmations are positive statements, said or written repeatedly, until they are a fact.

Even in the really bad times, a string of words can bring comfort. The rhythm of the words can be something to grab onto.

As an example, I am a wonderful person is an affirmation.

I walk with the goddess today.

I walk in the light today.

Oh and I meant to say something about the Affirmations. I truly believe in those and use them when the walls are closing in. I like to think of them like magic spells that transform the impossible. And what do know, a spell that works.

My father was bi-polar; yet he managed to hold down a job his whole life (I admired that). What's normal anyway?

I think we all have our "crazies," just in different ways. Even the greatest psychiatrists are not totally sane...otherwise they wouldn't be psychiatrists! LOL

Yup, I'm crazy- went nuts from a combo of time-bomb genetics and sleep loss. Bipolar 2 is the dx. I currently take pdoc ordered Seroquel, which helps the roller coaster even out a bit (a lot, actually). But I'm still me, still very creative, still can't stop me once I've got my teeth in a bone -:)
