Man of Steel : A Mature Look at Superman
We all know and love the original Superman films from the 80's, and they will forever be apart of the canon of superhero films. The original Superman film showed how he simply saved the day with action packed scenes that would keep any kid on the edge of their seat. But I am here to talk about the Man of Steel, which I feel is a more mature Superman film for those who grew up with the original. This modern take on the classic hero not only saves the day, but with the use of flashback sequences we see just how Clark Kent( Kal-El) learns honor, and duty from Pa Kent. He also learns just why he is so different from others, and how he can use those abilities in a way to be the upstanding citizen that the Kent's have raised him to be. Not only does this film offer the origin story for Kal-El, but it also throws in the classic battle with the exiled Kryptonians lead by General Zod. Fighting scenes fueled by modern graphics just blow the original out of the water making this a soon to be classic. I will not spoil the ending for those who have yet to see this, but it is just as epic as one can imagine. I did not get the opportunity to see this in the theater, but I could not wait to see this on Blu-ray, and rented it as soon as it was available. I was not disappointed and nor will you. So if you are a comics fanboy or just like action packed films I highly recommend seeing this one.
