Dear John is an American romantic drama film directed by Lasse Hallström and released on February 5, 2010. A hundred-dollar blockbuster hit, the movie is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling novel of the same title. Starring Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried and Richard Jenkins, it tells the story of John, a US Army soldier from South Carolina who falls in love with a reserved college student he meets while on leave.
