Music Festivals USA_My Concise Favorite List

Updated on January 20, 2013

Introduction: Music Festival is big in USA

There are literally hundreds of music festivals going on in every month of the year in USA. Here , we have hundreds of music festivals and other types of festivals, such as fine arts, theater, and flower festivals in season that also include music as a key element. .

Later I provide a link to all festivals in all parts of the world as reference. In some cultures such as Russia & France for example, poetry recitation is an important element of the culture, and poets and those skills in the art of poetry recitation gets record audiences in poetry reading.

Here in America in the present time, somehow music is so overwheleming part of our culture, both commercial and non-commerical, perhaps poetry simply does not get the attention it would otherwise today.

So, in researching this topic, I was glad to see that there are poetry reading skills development are encouraged as America does have wonderful poetic heritage, including the heritage of the English romantic poets such as Keats and Wordsworth for example.

But there are no poetry live festivals I could find. But perhaps some of the fine arts festivals include music and dramatic presentations include poetry. This topic I like to invite the reader to consider if you love poetry as well as music.

In music, I have provided a list of both large and well respected small events in my favorite list. This list no doubt can be expanded considerably to include others which I hope to review.

My favorite types are those who have a purpose other than just enjoyment of music as a mission. If included in the mission of the festival to strengthen the new artists, and performers, along with contribute to community wealth building through a charitable support element, that is something I look for in a worthy music festival large or small.

Boston Tradition in Folk Music Heritage America New England - Boston Early Music Festival, Boston, Massachusetts

It was founded in 1980 by a group of musicians interested in promoting historical performance in the United States and abroad.

Since then, BEMF has promoted early music through a variety of diverse programs and activities, including an annual concert series that brings the early music's brightest stars to the Boston concert stage, and the biennial week-long Festival and Exhibition. At each Festival, concerts are presented every day from morning until late at night. Concerts are given by a remarkable array of established luminaries and rising stars in the field of early music worldwide. BEMF concerts also allow for unique, once-in-a-lifetime collaborations and programs by the spectacular array of talent assembled for the Festival week's events.
