My 3 Favourite Episodes in Season 3 of Disney’s Phineas and Ferb Cartoons

Updated on September 21, 2013

Why I love Disneyâs Phineas and Ferb Cartoons

I love watching cartoons and love learning about new inventions. Cartoons make me laugh which reduces my stress. I also get to learn more about the lovable characters and watch their progress throughout the episodes. Many inventions have made life more interesting, fun and productive. Therefore, seeing inventions on cartoons really helps me to think outside the box.

The Disneyâs Phineas and Ferb TV Series combine both my love of cartoons and learning about inventions. The young brothers are extremely smart, their friends are so loyal and their big sister is so persistent. I love their pet Platypus too because having a Platypus for a pet is unusual which makes it even more interesting to watch.

Hence, I wanted to share with you my favourite three episodes for Season 3. According to Wikipedia, Season 3 was aired from 2011-2012 and had 63 episodes. I decided not to include the movies or two part episodes but only focus on the regular episodes.

The song is really catchy and I like the clips that they show!

Criteria for Selection

My Checklist

There are many ways to choose your favourite episodes but I used these criteria to pick my top 3 Phineas and Ferb episodes for Season 3.

  • Main Characters sticking to the plot
  • Invention made and its usefulness
  • Perry's interaction with his enemy, Dr Doofenshmirtz (aka Doofenshmirtz)
  • Soundtrack and its relevance
  • How well I liked the adventure and plot

This episode takes place in China in 1542. Phineas and Ferb and his friends except for Isabella are watching a parade. Princess Isabella and Regent Monogram (Major Monogram) sits in a jou (wheelless vehicle) while travelling in the parade. While in the parade, they are attacked by henchmen sent by Doofus Khan (Dr Doofenshmirtz). They kidnap Princess Isabella but Regent Monogram refuses to help because it might endanger the Princess' life. Doofus Khan's plan is to use that helplessness to take over the Tri-Province Area (Tri-State Area). Phineas, Ferb, Buford and Baljeet set off to find Master Perry (Agent P) so that he can help them. They have to climb the Unclimbable Mountain of Unclimbableness. Candace tries to follow them but falls down the mountain. They use a jou with giant mechanical feet to reach Master Perry but he refuses to rescue the Princess so he trains them instead.

After they complete their training they invent a jou on a pogo stick to climb the rest of the mountain and rescue Princess Isabella. A battle starts with Doofus Khan in a giant robotic Dragon and the four boys in their Terracotta Warrior. Doofus Khan defeats them but then Master Perry comes in and shows them the key and they pull it out to deactivate the Dragon. Through a domino effect the Dragon and Warrior are destroyed so Candace doesn't get to bust the boys. Later, they wonder what to do to prevent more attacks so Phineas and Ferb build the Great Wall of China.

Based on my criteria, this is my reason for choosing this episode:

  • The plot is about Dr Doofenshmirtz trying to overthrow the ruling Chinese Dynasty by kidnapping Isabella. Major Monogram is the ruler and Carl is in the army. Phineas, Ferb, Buford and Baljeet work together to save Isabella. Agent P assists them to defeat Doofenshmirtz.
  • Phineas built a jou (see footnote) with giant mechanical feet and a jou on a pogo stick. The jou with giant mechanical feet and jou on a pogo stick are used to climb the mountain to save Isabella. The boys and their friends except Isabella build a giant Terracotta Warrior. The giant terracotta warrior is used to battle Doofenshmirtz.
  • Agent P helps to defeat Dr Doof by showing the boys where he hides the giant Robotic Dragon's key. Removing the key deactivates the Dragon.
  • The song for this episode is "Way of the Platypus". It is really cool watching Phineas, Ferb, Buford and Baljeet train with Agent P to become warriors in order to save Isabella.
  • This episode maintains the usual interaction that I love. The brothers and their friends work together to create inventions that are used in their adventures. Agent P helps to defeat Doofenshmirtz. Candace tries to bust her brothers by getting her mom to see the mischief they get into.

Footnote:

The proper name for Jou is Litter. Wikipedia describes it as a wheelless human-powered transport. The carrying poles were lifted upon the shoulders or held by hand to transport persons to various destinations. Princess Isabella and Regent Monogram were in a traditional jou. Phineas and Ferb modified it by adding the pogo stick and mechanical feet.

Phineas and Ferb with PerryCHECK PRICE

In this episode, Phineas and Ferb want to perform a nice gesture for their Mom to show their appreciation. They build a Supercomputer and ask it what they should do. They spend the rest of the episode following the Supercomputer instructions. Candace as usual wants to bust her brothers and upon realizing that the Supercomputer knows the answers to everything decides to ask it for help too. She spends time gathering items and following its instructions.

In the meantime, Dr Doofenshmirtz created an All-Purpose-enactor but dropped the key to activate it so he builds a Metal-un-Earth-enactor to find the key. In the end, his machine zaps and pulls the Supercomputer and the key into his liar destroying it. Linda, the boys' mother returns home and because of the computer instructions the boys fixed her bad hair style while Candace's invention causes a mirror to pop-up shown Linda her corrected hairstyle. Of course, the Supercomputer was already destroyed so she still doesn't get to bust the boys.

Based on my criteria, this is my reason for choosing this episode:

  • The plot is about the Supercomputer and all the main characters interact with the Supercomputer at various times throughout the episode so that was really fun.
  • The boys and their friends built a Supercomputer which is able to solve any problem. He helps the boys to give their mom, Linda, a nice surprise. He also helps Candace with her problem because she wanted her mom to see what the boys had done. He even indirectly helped Perry defeat Doofenshmirtz.
  • Perry fights Dr Doofenshmirtz in order to destroy the All-Purpose-enactor and Metal-un-Earth-enactor. Doofenshmirtz' Metal-un-Earth-enactor ends up pulling the Supercomputer which destroys his HQ.
  • The song for this episode was "Buildin' a Supercomputer" and has a nice rhythm. The brothers and their friends looks really funny dancing to it.
  • It was really great watching how a Supercomputer could solve problems while interacting with the main and supporting characters in the episode.

Phineas and Ferb - CandaceCHECK PRICE

Phineas, Ferb and Candace are watching a TV show about the fastest animal on land which is the Cheetah. Phineas and Ferb decide to create a pair of boots so that they can run just as fast. Candace makes plans to go to Jeremy's family picnic and is very happy. However, her mom, Linda informs her that she promised to read to the kids at the library. Candace sees the boots in action and decides to use the boots without telling her brothers. She wants to be in two places at once so she spends most of the episode running back and forth between Jeremy's family picnic and the library. She causes a lot of mess at the picnic and as a result Jeremy's grandmother does not like her.

In the second storyline, Doofenshmirtz' apartment is on sale because he missed the mortgage payments. However, he is trying to scare away the potential buyers. One prospective buyer is Annabelle who is a long lost relative of Jeremy's family. Candace's boots starts to malfunction because it was an unstable prototype and she accidently grabs Annabelle and ends up back at the picnic. Hildegard, Jeremy's grandmother, notices the family resemblance in Annabelle and the entire family celebrates her return. Hildegard is glad that Candace helped her family. Agent P finally convinces Doofenshmirtz to ask his ex-wife for money in order to save his home.

Based on my criteria, this is my reason for choosing this episode:

  • The plot is about how Candace can be in two places at the same time by using the boots invented by her brother to make the wearer run as fast as a Cheetah. Dr Doofenshmirtz tries to scare away a potential buyer, Annabelle who turns out to be the long lost relative of Jeremy's family. Agent P convinces Doofenshmirtz to get help from his ex-wife.
  • The brothers invented a pair of boot to make the wearer run really fast and this helps Candace to fulfil two commitments.
  • Agent P does not fight Doofenshmirtz in this episode but he does persuade Doofenshmirtz to get help in order to save his house.
  • The song was "Run, Candace, Run" and focus on Candace running really fast to be in two places at once. The scenes when she moves really fast are really funny.
  • This episode focuses on Candace and it was really great that she unexpectedly did something nice for Jeremy and his family. It was also great seeing Agent P help Doofenshmirtz to save his house.
