My absolutely favorite TV shows of all time

Updated on September 23, 2012

TV shows that I have fallen in love with - and there aren't many..

I'll start off with a disclaimer: This Squidoo article is all about me as I personally believe the world should be. You might well believe that the TV show Frasier stank but, well, you'd be dead wrong. Frasier rules! As you can probably tell, Frasier is among my favorite TV shows of all time...

As I put together a list of my favorite TV shows, I noted that most of these are sitcoms. That makes sense as I'm very funny (ok, it might be in my own little perverse mind but I do still, upon occasion, crack myownself right up). Anyway, before I diverted this monologue, what I meant to say is that I like sitcoms because they're, well, funny. I don't need to spend my few precious minutes watching E.R. - I can walk into any hospital waiting room to see the real thing!

So, whether you care or not, the below are my all time favorite shows. You should listen up - these are all really great.

My one favorite TV show of all time is.... - ....FRASIER!

Are you surprised?! Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce et al are comic geniuses. The TV show Frasier depicts Kelsey Grammer as Frasier Crane, a radio host of a call in therapy show. The show frequently has famous guests that you probably don't recognize as they're callers into Frasier's radio show. But, Bill Gates, Carl Reiner, Jay Leno, Mel Brooks, and Kevin Bacon are some of the famous callers. For more information about these faceless walk-on roles on Frasier, check out Frasier Crane Show Callers.

And, here's an excellent article showing: the characters on Frasier.

Frasier: The Complete Series
Frasier: The Complete Series

When my Mom was in rehab for a broken hip, I spent a lot of time with her in the rehab facility. My incredibly boyfriend John walked in one day with the entire series of Frasier. He couldn't have given me a better gift at the time as I had free access to every single Frasier episode - all 11 years!!!

If you know someone who has a good sense of humor, you can't miss with Frasier as a birthday or Christmas gift.

Search seasons of Frasier yourself... - ...go ahead. I dare ya.

Here's the most popular Frasier seasons on Amazon but, if you don't see the year you're looking for, just enter your own search criteria.

My favorite moments on Frasier

If these videos don't convince you of the comic genius of the Frasier staff, we'll you have no sense of humor. Frasier is one of the best written shows of all times.

Anyone who has watched the Sunshine cab company cabbies of the TV series Taxi will know why I picked this as my 2nd all time favorite TV show! Airing from 1978 until 1982, Taxi scores high on the comedic meter with actors like Danny DeVito (Louie DePalma - the tyrant taxi dispatcher), Tony Danza (Tony Banta - a boxer who never quite makes it), Judd Hirsch (Alex Rieger - the voice of reason), Marilu Henner (Elaine Nardo - the divorced mother of two who is trying to break into the fine arts world), and, my personal favorite, Christopher Lloyd (Reverend Jim - the lovable hippie with a childlike sense of wonder). Taxi also had some great guest stars like Tom Selleck, and Rita Pearlman (married to Danny DeVito in real life). Taxi is a must-see if you're looking for a good laugh.

Here's a link to more information about Taxi.

I love having these DVDs around, particularly on cold or rainy days. They also make a great Christmas gift for someone special.

Taxi: The Complete Series

I believe Taxi is right up there with Frasier as far as being one of the best written of all shows. And, I'm not the only one who thinks that - Taxi won 3 Emmys in a row for Outstanding Comedy Series.

I personally don't know why anyone would buy season by season of this great TV show but, if you insist, here's some choices for Taxi on Amazon.com

I couldn't agree more. Frasier is by far the best of the best. Actually it is number 1 on my lens as well - The 10 Best Sitcomes ever. The whole setting of the series is enjoyable. Fantastic lens !

I never get tired of watching Frasier and laugh every time! Personal favorite scene: When Roz is pregnant and meets the parents of the father. They have rather large noses and also raise dogs. When asked what kind they say something to the effect that they "have Giant Schnauzers." Rewind and watch the cast. You can see the smirks. I know it took them a bazillion takes to get that even reasonably straight!
