My Guitarist Guild website
About Guitarist Guild
This is info about my website Guitarist Guild and why I built it
Having built and run a small site based around photography, and wanting to explore a different niche. My son decided he wanted to learn the bass guitar, as some of his fiends were playing with the idea of starting a band. Whilst researching what bass guitar and amp we could get for him, it started to bring back memories of my guitar playing days. Then I got the idea to try a guitarist website. Guitarist Guild was born.
It's now been running a few weeks, and the member base is growing slowly (very), but I'm quite happy with the way it's going so far. Why not check it out, and join in on the forums.
So what can people do on guitaristguild.com
I'm trying to build a member base of Guitarists, Bands, Amp and accessory manufacturers, Effect pedal manufacturers, basically anything to do with Bands and their gear.
Guitarists, bands, and soloists are encouraged to join, post info about themselves, promote their band, ad links back to their sites and social pages, blogs etc.
Gear makers and distributors are able to shout out about their products, and leave links, post news about new gear, and post news about any promotions they might be running. This include shops, ebay stores. A great way to get some free advertising in my opinion.
Guitar Teachers are also welcome to post about their services, and post links to their tutorials, and websites etc.
That all said, you don't have to be a musician to enjoy guitaristguild.com the forum is open to anyone who has a interest in anything to do with music.
Also, just for a bit of fun, I've now added a arcade to the site. Although I still need to add more games to it.
I also ask anyone who has music related lenses to join, and post in the "Guitar/Music related lenses on Squidoo" thread http://guitaristguild.com/index.php?topic=165.0 Post some info and a link back to your lenses. Costs nothing, and you get free backlinks. ;)

Bass or Guitar Poll
So to all you bass players out there.
Did you learn to play the bass straight off, or did you learn to play a six string electric, or acoustic first, then move on to the bass.??

Electric guitars come with either Passive electronics or Active electronics. Passive guitars generate their own power when the metal strings vibrate over the top of the pickups. It's then picked up via the amplifier and boosted. Active electronics have their own power source via a battery, the signal from the pickups is picked up, and enhanced via the electronics, then pumped to the amplifier.
Do you prefer Passive or Active electronics?
