All About Nat (Natalie) Portman

Natalie Portman, born Natalie Hershlag, is an award winning actress. Her claim to fame was starring as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequels. She was born in Jerusalem, and holds dual American and Israeli citizenship.

Portman began her career at an early age, taking dance lessons at 4 years old, and starring in a feature film at 13. She has since went on to win several awards including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her performance in Black Swan.

Portman is engaged to choreographer Ben Millipied as of December, 2010. On June 14th, 2011 Portman gave birth to their son. Millipied and Portman met during the filming of Black Swan, though details are not easy to come by, as Portman is known to value her privacy and has largely avoided speaking at length about about her relationship with Millipied.

As of June 14, 2011, Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman are the proud parents of a baby boy. People Magazine was the first to report the birth. It's now rumored that the name of their son is Alef, after the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The name means "leader". There is, as of yet, no confirmation on this.
