Hello and welcome to my first Hub, I love taking photographs so i though i would share some here and explain some of my projects with you.
I take a lot of images of Stained Glass Windows, each window tells a story, in the older days many people could not read or write so churches and cathedrals had stained glass windows installed to allow the followers to see images that related to the stories from the bible that where being discussed by the clergy.
Most of my images are made up of several individual images (between 6 and 70 depending on size of window) and merged together with cs3 to give final image, i find doing it this way improves the quality and gives better resolution to the image, plus it can be printed to a larger size.
Churches Iv'e visited so far are in London, Oxford, Somerset and Dorset and I have further plans to visit further afield areas in Scotland and Ireland.
The next most common thing i take images of are Animals, I do a lot of walking either along the river thames or in the somerset/dorset countryside to capture birds, bees, wasps and any other type of animal or insect i may come across.
i enjoy trying to capture movement with insects and birds as it give the animal at its best, trial and error is a must whilst doing this, i use Nikon equipment and setting up the camera and lens is important, getting the correct shutter speed ect.
The most important thing i find whilst taking images is peperation, look around the area where you are going to take the images, follow the animals and watch there behavior, most insects and birds have a pattern, look and wait and when your ready take the image. You also have to be aware of shutter noise as this could and will scare the animal or insects away.
If you move your mouse over any image and right click, the full image will be made bigger.
So enjoy my images and leave a question or comment.
Please do not steal any of my images, they are all copyright to myself. If you like the image email me or leave a comment.
As mentioned earlier I use a D3 and the following lens for the video image.
AF-S 50mm f/1.4G
AF-S 200-400mm f/4G VR IF-ED
AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED
AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G VR IF-ED
TC-17E II 1.7x teleconverter
10.5mm f/2.8G DX Fisheye
60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor
Basically all lens that make the job easier.
I rarely use a Tripod but carry a monostick with me as they are easier to use and a lot of places panic when you carry a camera and a tripod.
So if you have any questions regarding my images or the videos please leave a comment.
A few place where ive used my camera kit to take images
Ullswater, Lake District
During the next few months i plan to go to a few place including the following
Longleat Safari Park
Just to mention a few, I am waiting till i buy the new
Nikon d3s which has the facility to take video at 24 frames a sec in a 5 min burst, which allows you to use the 24 images as single images also, so this could be interesting to me doing the wasps and bees etc in flight.
