about this page

Since childhood I have been involved in some kind of needlework over the years. I am mostly self taught and have worked in many mediums. I started out with simple embroidery as a young girl and progressed to crewel embroidery, then counted cross stitch, and then the quilting bug bit me in the early 80's. I have made over 300 quilts since then. Most of my work now a days is my own design work as I rarely work from a pattern. I like the freedom to think outside the box and see what my brain can come up with. I work by "the seat of my pants" usually only having a general idea of what i want to do, then let the project "talk" to me and tell me what it wants. I will be adding to this section as i think of things and/or learn how to use these Hub pages better.

So many beautiful and colorful quilts. I think I like the nine patch the best. I also enjoy quilting.

You've made some beautiful pieces! I have enjoyed quilting, too, but none as creative as yours. You have made wonderful use of the fabrics available to quilters. Thanks for sharing!

thank you silver for the thoughtful comment and compliment. Quilting like writing is such a person and creative outlet, I feel blessed to have what seems to be talents in both areas. Some of my next Hugs will showcase my photography work so stay tuned. ;)

You have lot of patience! But that's what makes quilting so special - it's an art as well as a craft. Lovely!

Since you sew by the seat of your pants: I hope the "seat of your pants" are large.. Keep sewing. Hand made quilts are special....
