Country music with a whole lot of attitude.

These Redneck party songs are perfect for your average everyday hard working, beer drinking Redneck to unwind and relax to at the end of his or her work day.

Rednecks are a distinct class of common country folk. They work hard, play hard, and enjoy hooting it up with family and close friends.

Redneck songs tend to combine all these elements into their melodies which is why these are a few of my favorite Redneck songs.

Cotton Eyed Joe by the Rednex

Music trivia: Did you know how old Cotton Eyed Joe is?

That song has quite a few years to its credit. Did you know that the song Cotton Eyed Joe has been around since before the American Civil War. Although the Rednex made Cotton Eyed Joe a popular dance song in 1994, a much earlier version of this toe tapping dance song was published on paper way back in 1882.

Yahoo! Gonna be a party and I am invited. Sweet!

Listen to the song Redneck Games here.

Redneck trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that Alan Jackson and Jeff Foxworthy pulled together to create a little Redneck song called "Redneck Games". The song centered on the Olympic Games in Georgia and you can view this gem of a Redneck song here. Makes a redneck proud it truly does.

It's all right to be a Redneck by Alan Jackson

There are a lot of great redneck songs out there.

Rednecks generally work darn hard and when they are done they like to play just as hard.

Relaxing with friends comes easy for a redneck. A few brews to warm the heart, some good old down home tunes to set the mood, and some really good conversation to go along with it all. Hmmm? Well maybe just some negligible conversation to go along with all that stuff cause listening to a redneck talk you may not think that the conversation has really got all that much of an intelligent undertone to it.

Redneck Girl by the Bellamy Brothers

It's toe tapping music with a twist.

Music trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that it is two brothers, David Milton Bellamy, and Homer Howard Bellamy who make up the Bellamy Brothers. In 1982 Redneck Girl became the 6th number one country hit for the Bellamy brothers. It was written by David Bellamy.

Turn up the redneck party songs and pull your girl close. Often with a country base to them, and a heck of a lot of emotion, these songs have good old common sense written all over em'. Go on and crank up those good old country songs. You know that these tunes are gonna have you sitting back whistling along.

Redneck trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that the first Rednecks actually lived in rural country homes, or wilderness cabins, and not trailers as modern day Rednecks are frequently depicted as living in now.

No matter where they reside the modern day Redneck is really not all that different from the hard working country Redneck of yesterday. Today's Redneck may live in a wilderness cabin, a cottage in town, a country homestead, a penthouse apartment, a trailer park, or a mansion way up there in Beverly Hills.

Urban Rednecks today still are just plain old hard working, hard partying, outspoken, country minded folks, just like the very first Rednecks were. It's all in the attitude.

Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus

Music trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that Achy Breaky Heart was the song which earned Billy Ray Cyrus his spot in the limelight. It is however the famous mullet haircut which Billy Ray sported for the Achy Breaky Heart video which earned him the right to wear the title of Redneck. Nice hair Billy Ray.

How about a few redneck Christmas songs to light up the holiday season?

You just know that you are going to need this album to set the holidays off just right. Nothing is more seasonal than a good old redneck Christmas.

Redneck Woman by Gretchen Wilson

Redneck Trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that Redneck ladies feel just as comfortable in a set of mechanic's overalls as they do in a hot little mini dress. Yep, Redneck ladies can do it all.

Get ready to snap your fingers and tap your toes this redneck album has songs on it that you are going to love. You can download too if you prefer to do your music right away.

Redneck trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that the nickname Bubba actually began as an affectionate southern term for brother. Over time it sort of twisted itself into meaning pretty much the same thing as Redneck does.

Bubba is now usually used to refer to a good old boy, someone of lowly means, someone of lowly education, a Redneck, etc. You get the picture.

High Tech Redneck by George Jones

Music trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that George Jones was born in Saratoga Texas way back in 1931. George Jones is well known for enjoying his alcohol, and at a very low point in his life recorded his most successful song "He stopped loving her today", which went on to be awarded almost every award which it could at that time win.

It's George's little drunken trip into town on his lawn mower that truly earned George the right to be called a redneck.

What this world needs is a few more Rednecks by The Charlie Daniels Band

Music trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that it is Bruce Brown, Charlie Daniels, Chris Wormer, Taz DiGregorio, Charlie Hayward, and Pat McDonald who are the members of Charlie Daniels band. Did you also know that there is actually a Charlie Daniels Museum located in Nashville Tennessee. Yep, it's true. So pop on down and pay them a visit.

Workin Man Blues by Merle Haggard

Redneck trivia: Did you know?

Did you know that there is actually an annual Redneck Fishing Derby held in Bath, Illinois. Hosted since 2005 this annual event doesn't allow fishing hooks to be used during the fishing derby, participants are instead encouraged to use nets to catch the Asian Silver Carp as they jump out of the water.

The story behind the opening photo. Meet my dad.

I come from a long line of rednecks.

Turns out when my dad was in the army that his fun loving ways got him and a couple of his army buddies into a wee smidge of trouble. Fortunately one of the senior officers knew that my dad and his buddy played guitar so he offered them a deal in exchange for turning a blind eye to their current antics.

Yep, dad and his buddy wound up singing for their supper. They agreed to play for the senior officers at their social functions. Definitely beat peeling potatoes or cleaning latrines.

Featured photos are my own. This is my dad, my husband, and I.

So which is your favorite Redneck song?

You had me curious about that intro picture from the beginning...cute story and better than K-P duty for sure. Just add the beer, start the grill and you already have the music for the perfect redneck party. (So it WAS the hair for Billy Ray!)

Funny thing I must tell you about my redneck relations: when we have huge family gatherings, the music always turns to gospel (yes, beer bottle in hand) and one song that comes to mind is ":Drop Kick Me, Jesus". We are nuts!
