In Response to Evanescence Fans

Updated on June 19, 2013

Amy and Ben 2003

Regarding my hub: Evanescence, We Are The Fallen and reclaiming the dream

I wanted to clarify a few things. First, I am a HUGE Evanescence fan, and have been since before Fallen was released. I was lucky enough to go to see them live in 2003 while Ben was still in the band. It was amazing. I never say in my hub that The Open Door is a 'bad' album or that I don't like it. I love it. 'Lacrymosa', 'Like You', 'Your Star', 'All That I'm Living For', and 'Good Enough' are my favorites of the album. The Open Door is just harder to get to know than Fallen was. It takes a few listens, and you do hear something new every time you listen to it. 'Good Enough' is the only song that I can play all the way through on the piano without mistake.

I can honestly say I have heard every single recorded song that Amy’s voice is in, and know all the words by heart. I probably know more about Evanescence than at least half the people on evthreads. No joke. And as for the comment about the latest news being that they're writing and recording new material; I DID know about that when I wrote the hub, but that's what Amy says, nothing has been released, and who knows how long that will take. Her saying that there’s going to be news isn’t really news.

I love the idea of Evanescence, but that's all that’s really left at this point, just an idea. Amy is solo, whether anyone wants to believe that or not. Even if we consider Terry a permanent collaborator, that would still not really make them a 'band'. More like a 'duo' maybe? I also do not like how she abandoned evboard. She used to come on there all the time, now she's just disowned it I guess. And I don't think it's very fair how she kicked that person off evthreads for making a We Are The Fallen forum. What is that? 'You like THEM, so you can't come on MY forum anymore!' Seems pretty childish to me.

My point is; I love the music, but hate the drama, and immaturity. I will definitely be buying any music that is released by both We Are The Fallen, and whatever Evanescencey Amy Terry thing that finally sees the light of day.

For The Immature:

One more thing; I shouldn’t have to say “This is just my opinion, please don’t hate me for it”. OBVIOUSLY its my opinion. Anything anyone writes is their own opinion. Also, I honestly don’t care if you hate me for it. Because if you do, than you must have some serious issues with the way you receive and interpret information. This doesn’t affect you. I am not hurting you. I am not hurting anyone. Grow up.

For The Mature:

Thank you for politely disagreeing with me. You are proof that a person’s reaction to what I’ve written does not need to be anger and hate, even if you disagree with me. And we can all get along. I truly appreciate that more than you know.

P.S.

Well, this started out as a comment I was going to post under my first hub. But it’s gotten pretty long, so it has become its own hub.

Yes. It was only speculation and because of the history everyone have just assumed it was Amy that got rid of them. No one really knows and Sparkart have taken responsibility for it and unfortunatly for this evanescence lost some fans over some stupid moderator thing. Humen beings are absolutely disgusting sometimes in my opionion.

When did Amy, as you say, "kick someone off the board because they made a WATF thread"? Cause I haven't heard anything of the sort and that doesn't sound like Amy any how.

I recommenced being careful when posting negative opionons about amy or the current evanescence unless you are ready to have many angry evtheaders/trolls coming to try and kick your ass. Everyone has opionons and you'll always find people who wont like it :). F

"Nobody's telling them -Sometimes is best to say nothing rather than stoke the fire more."

Because I would be doing that for the next few centuries and then some and since I'm not immortal that would be inpractical. If you want to go around screaming obscenities in you spare time bescause as you put it "angry little kids" do then all be it- but I think I'm not wrong in asuming your actaully an adult with children.

Take this as a life lesson and since you cannot or will not see the point I'm trying to make I can't be botherd to carry on trying to do so, but I'll leave you with this instead....

You wrote a blog and from some bad luck it ended up being posted on evthreads as a result. The actaul blog itself was pretty negative about Amy in most instances and if you can't see that, then well- I'll leave that at that.

See, how easy it is to annoy and insult someone? Your taking it pretty seriously so it must be important to you, just as it is to those in question. Take from this what you will......

"in the particular case the Ev's fans you also have to think that some of these fan's live and breathe this music; even developing very stong emotional ties to it."

I KNOW. That was ME for the last 6 years.

"To say there is no reason what you say should insult anyone to me is seeming quite deluded."

I'm just a fan like everyone else, I am no person of authority or importance. I should be able to say what I feel just like all the angry little kids on youtube saying "Carly should die!", and "I hate Ben!", and "F**k We Are The Fallen!!!" "Amy is GOD!"

Nobody's telling them "Sometimes is best to say nothing rather than stoke the fire more."

Thats a pretty wild thing to say really, its something that I can't claim for myself and if you really feel that your immune to the judgement of others then you had better take a look at the blog in question which happens to say otherwise.

I'm not trying to be nasty but people have diffenent backgrounds, cultures and beliefs- some stronger than others and when you take a genre of people, in the particular case the Ev's fans you also have to think that some of these fan's live and breathe this music; even developing very stong emotional ties to it. So when you insult the music you also insult them in a non direct way too because of the link they have with it.

To say there is no reason what you say should insult anyone to me is seeming quite deluded. Be aware that when you create a blog its open to the world to see so don't be suprised when you get negative comments.

That's just it. There's no reason ANYTHING I say should insult anyone.

Dude, you just opened a can of worms.

You have to remember that there are some pretty loyal fans out there and what ever you say is going to annoy someone somewhere. Sometimes is best to say nothing rather than stoke the fire more.

As an Ev fan myself I enjoy the music thats why I listen to it but you also have to think that like all things in life things change and evolve- you can't judge when you don't have the hard facts, plus you never mentioned that you liked the songs off TOD..... When I read this post it was almost like an emotional outburst from a sulking teenager tying to justify their actions.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion but when you talk about something that is likely to get peoples backs up I feel a little more tack should be used before un-intentionally insulting more people.
