Ricochet Rabbit

Updated on August 24, 2017

Bing, Bing, Bing Ricochet Rabbit

Who remembers the old cartoon Ricochet Rabbit? If you said "I do" your really dating yourself here, as the original first run was January 14, 1964 till December 4, 1965! I remember Ricochet Rabbit like it was yesterday, sitting in front of the black and white TV, watching Sheriff Ricochet Rabbit bouncing off walls as he speeds off to work while his sidekick Droop-Along Coyote who attempts to keep up but inevitably crashes through a window or into a cactus. Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end...

Ricochet Rabbit & Droop-a-Long Coyote

A cartoon created by Hanna Barbera.

R

icochet Rabbit & Droop-a-Long Coyote cartoon was featured on the popular Magilla Gorilla show. It was set in the western town of Hoop n' Holler where the jumpy little hare speeds off to the trouble in town, bouncing off anything standing. And who could forget Ricochet Rabbits trick bullets which would come to a screeching halt in mid-air, and while hovering, an arm extends takes off the bad guys cowboy hat, then turns into a huge hammer and bonk the bad guy on the head. How fast is Ricochet Rabbit? He's been known to leave a tornado behind in his wake, I've even seen him cause a sonic boom that shattered windows.

Droop Along Coyote

Ricochet Rabbits faithful sidekick.

R

icochet Rabbits trusty deputy, is none other than Droop Along Coyote. He tries to help but nothing he does seems to work and he's about as slow as Ricochet Rabbit is fast. He's so slow and droopy that when he shoots his gun the barrel droops, hacking like a chain smoker it coughs before it spits the bullet out which lands right on the floor. Droop Along is the rabbits biggest and most loyal fan and he is always there to sweep up the pieces and of course Droop Along is a coyote so he has a clever streak and uses that to his advantage.
