Are You Searching For A Pair of Ruby Slippers?

We all know the importance of Dorothy Gale's ruby slippers in The Wizard of Oz. They were the shoes that Judy Garland wore in the 1939 movie of the same name.

In L. Frank Baum's original book, the shoes were silver. However, the movie featured them in ruby red in order to take full advantage of the Technicolor film process.

In the movie, the house falls on the Wicked Witch of the East. She is killed and the Munchkins released forever from her rule. With help from Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy dons the ruby slippers, which offer protection against the Witch's sister, the Wicked Witch of the West. At the end of the movie, Glinda shares the secret of the slippers, that Dorothy can go home by clicking her heels three times and saying one of the most famous movie lines of all time, "There's no place like home."

Because of the iconic stature of The Wizard of Oz and the ruby slippers, the originals from the movie are now extremely cherished and valuable pieces of movie memorabilia. Women and girls around the world would love to own a pair of ruby slippers and they are in luck for there is a virtual wonderland of ruby slippers available.

On this page, there is a myriad of ruby slippers. Many of them are sequined but some are not. Some are quite similar in styling to Dorothy's original shoes and others are quite different. The choices include high heels and flats. Some of them are meant to be worn as part of a Halloween costume while others are simply ruby slipper inspired shoes. If you are looking for a pair of ruby slippers for yourself or for your daughter, you are sure to find a choice that suits your style.
