History of the Salaryman / Salaryman Chohanji - Korean Drama 2012

Updated on October 2, 2014

Bored with the similar romantic comedy drama? You'll definitely love this drama

A quirky, funny, daring, mystery drama with fresh storyline which definitely suit people who are bored with the similar romantic comedy drama, History of the Salaryman is 2010 SBS drama written & produced by the same people who wrote & produce a popular 2010 Korean drama Giant.

As dramafever mentioned, this drama is "More than a parody of modern office politics, HISTORY bases its characters on actual historical figures from ancient China" (precisely from the legend "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms").

I highly anticipated this drama because it features my favorite actors, particularly Hong Soo Hyun & Lee Bum Soo. I also have soft spot for Jung Ryeo Won who's awesomely good playing quirky Baek Yeo Chi who loves to swear & is very blunt.

This drama can also be classified as dark comedy which paints a hard reality of regular salarymen who work their hardest to provide food on the table for themselves & their family, only to be stepped & blocked by people who have more power & money. As the granddaughter of a wealthy family, Baek Yeo Chi helps the salarymen, giving them more power & opportunity.

History of salaryman has set itself for the gold international standard. It has created history that no one has ever dreamed of. This drama is the new era drama that will make headlines. Ryeo Won Jung walk an extra mile for the most beautiful drama. She shade off her real person who is warm, humble, kind, generous, caring, and loving into an arrogant young lady who missed her parents love. Nevertheless, her role as Yeo Chi made this drama to be the number 1 in Korea and set a new record for her internationally. Only Ryeo Won can play the role of Yeo Chi because she posesses the beauty, charisma, diligence, and her fluent English made the drive for success. Indeed, it was a great accomplishment for her and all the other cast members who made this drama to be known all over the world. Ryeo Won Jung is one person who can walk in rough places and still come out as a winner. She is someone whom I would love to meet someday. Excellent job.
