From that moment i was fascinated by his art and had to know more about sand animation. Here you will find information about Joe, his website and a list of other amazing sand artist i have found on the web.

What is Sand Animation?

Sand animation is also known as sand art, and is different to sand sculpture art where a artist creates a series of images using sand and tells a story. This process is achieved by applying sand to a surface and then images are drawn in the sand but the artist's hands. A sand animation performer will use the aid of an overhead projector or lightbox to enable the audience to view the images as they are created. With each image similar to a frame for an animated film.

Who is Joe Castillo?

Joe Castillo is a world renowned Sand Artist, motivational speaker, entertainer and storyteller. A native of Mexico City, Joe Castillo grew up in a bi-lingual home, speaking both English and Spanish.
