Top 100 Best Sci Fi Movies of All Time (2022 List)
List Of Best Science Fiction Films
Sci fi movies have always fascinated me. Either Books or films, science fiction has always been my favorite topic. Just from the idea of traveling time and visiting different time periods, or exploring space with a spaceship that travels much faster than light give me thrills.
I donât know exactly who proposed such fantastic ideas but I have read H.G. Wells and Jules Verneâs novels and I guess they were the basic inspiration behind such films.
From the very first sci fi movie A Trip to the Moon (1902) by Georges Melies to present day films, Hollywood has produced some of the best cult classic science fiction films. Now you can see the first science fiction film was on a topic which at that time looked ridiculous. Who would have ever thought of landing on moon? Agree it or not but JFKâs dream to land on moon and Apollo 11âs success was inspired from such books or movies.
In the 50s decade science was mainly used in horror movies (most notably in Space invasion films). Later on sci fi movies included sub genres like sci fi comedy, sci fi romance and sci fi action. Many directors worked in this genre and became global icon. Most notably being Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick and George Lucas.
I have always had interest in space, technology and extra terrestrial life, so I am big su(ker of this genre. Many movies might look stupid with unimaginable plot but there are several great films.
This page compiles the most famous and best sci fi movies ever made in the history of cinema.I have also selected my 10 personal favorites from the list. You will find many of your favorite films too but please notice that certain rules are followed while making the list :-
* Animated Sci-fi are not included.
* Sequel of movies are not included. They are combined with the original films.
Top 100 Science Fiction Movies - List Of Greatest Sci fi films
I would accept that there was no particular person who ruled this genre. But if I have to select any particular person who changed the face of this genre then I would obviously go with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
These two directors played a vital role in shaping the science fiction genre. Directors like Michael Bay, J.J. Abrams and Christopher Nolan are also my favorite directors in sci fi genre.

"Pawel is very good at asking the right questions. And he knows how to analyze the data." - Yuri Seo, Palo Alto Research Center
Pawel Wozniak has discovered an unexpected phenomenon in quantum physics ... one that could have wide-ranging consequences for everything from time travel to quantum computing.
An assistant professor of physics at Stony Brook University, Wozniak recently published a paper in Physical Review Letters outlining his discovery. In it, he describes experiments with calcium atoms that appear to behave differently depending on how closely they are spaced. The results could have implications for technologies ranging from lasers and optical computers to atomic clocks and even time travel (in theory).
Wozniak, who was born in Poland and holds a PhD from the University of Calgary (he did his postdoctoral work at Harvard), says he began looking into the issue when he was an assistant professor at UC San Diego, where he worked with quantum optics pioneer Peter Sadoff. The experiments that led to his discovery were done by then-graduate student David Weiss and other members of the same group.
"I initially thought we would find nothing interesting," Wozniak recalls, "so I didn't pay much attention to it until we realized there is something crucially new here."
This crucially new behavior occurs because — unlike classical physics — in quantum mechanics particles can behave differently when they are close

I Would Like To Travel Time
tophatpro: Time travel for sure! Imagine all the cool things you could go back and see first hand. And also all the things you could change about your own life. Like what Biff tried to do in Back to the Future.
eightieschild: Gotta be time travel.
irminia: Time might be far more interesting.
prashant_w: Neither, I would rather go teleport! But since you've asked... I guess I'd go with time travelling. Alien Anthology Blu Ray - an unbiased review. You can check out my newly created lens here! :)
Wealth-seekers LM: Time Travel through wormholes in space in time is possible? Right! As any self-respecting science fiction fan knows, wormholesâ theoretical shortcuts through space and timeâmake for excellent time travel portals. Wormholes connect two points in spacetime, which means that they would in principle allow travel in time, as well as in space. A hypothetical "tunnel" connecting two different points in spacetime in such a way that a trip through the wormhole could take much less time...Through a wormhole to a planet billions of miles away! According to general relativity it would not be possible to use a wormhole to travel back to a time earlier than when the wormhole was first converted into a time machine. This means that anything which entered the accelerated wormhole mouth would exit the stationary one at a point in time prior to its entry; This suggests that a wormhole time machine with an exceedingly short time jump is a theoretical bridge between contemporaneous parallel universes. Now that's COOL Stuff. Like your leans Thanks.
Chocolatealchemy: Time Travel - just imagine what I'd learn!
adamfader: You could always just time travel in space.
littlezotz: I would have to say that I prefer time travel. And alternate dimensions.
Paul Turner: Time travel for sure.
cbessa: Human behavior in different scenarios, so, both would be good. But i think Time Travel would bring more discussions on Humanity.
I Am More Interested In Space
dale-brown-900: Space - Space Travel
Helen Phillips Cockrell: Space
GeoffWakeling: Space. Jumping about all over the place gets confusing....journeying through space is just cooL!
Hammocksaustralia: Space! Time traveling ends up being to confusing in film or books.
John Norman Stewart: More into Space travel.....:)
filme: Space, Time is too confusing!
googlesniperfreetraffic: Thank you for the great information, take a look exactly....
Tracey Boyer: I like both, but I think I prefer space.
SandyTaylor: hmmm you know both of those intrigue me lol. I think space :D
Shadrosky: Time travel would be fantastic, but space just holds a mystique unlike anything else
natelrevoh lm: Hands down space! Time travel gets really tricky really fast. Although a lot of sci-fi have interesting concepts such as minority report that are closely related. :)
Stonecutter: In my mind space travel and exploration such as that in Star Trek is much more fun and interesting than time travel
