The Seeking a Friend For the End of the World Soundtrack List Features 37 Songs

Updated on July 20, 2013

Songs in Steve Carrell Movie

With over thirty seven songs packed into the movie, only a dozen songs are included on the official Seeking a Friend For the End of the World Soundtrack List featuring music from The Beach Boys, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, INXS, Albert Hammond, P.M. Dawn, The Hollies, Frank Black, The Walker Brothers, French Kicks and The Scissor Sisters.

Another thirteen songs from the score are featured on a separate soundtrack album with music by composers Rob Simonsen and Jonathan Sadoff.

Wang Chung has two songs in the movie "Everybody Has Fun Tonight" but only "Dance Hall Days" is included on the CD. Other songs in the movie but not on the O.S.T. include music from Steve Sidwell, The Steam Machine, Hello Moon, Ishi, The Selecter and Paul Williams.

Swinging the Seeking a Friend For the End of the World Soundtrack is an obscure track from Ray Davies on his hard to find release "Club Jazz" which can be previewed at JW Media Music.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World stars Steve Carell Hope Springs & Anchorman 2, Keira Knightley Anna Karenina & Last Night, Connie Britton Friday Night Lights, Adam Brody The O.C., Rob Corddry The Daily Show, Derek Luke Sparkle and Patton Oswalt Young Adult. Release Date: June 22, 2012. The movie was released on DVD October 23, 2012.

If you missed Hope Springs in theaters, check out the comedy drama starring Steve Carrell, Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones now available on DVD. This role was even more demanding of Carrell. Usually he's playing a straight character for laughs but in this dramatic role, his job was to play a thoughtful and caring marriage counselor without seeming creepy and he did a marvelous job in stepping aside to let Streep and Jones shine in their authenticity and as a result, squirm-worthy performances. When you see the movie, you'll totally understand.

Keira Knightly & Steve Carrell Seeking a Friend For the End of the World
Keira Knightly & Steve Carrell Seeking a Friend For the End of the World

Steve Carrell Movies - Dan in Real Life | Crazy, Stupid, Love

Though Steve Carrell is best known as that annoying boss in The Office and roles in The 40 Year Old Virgin & Date Night, it's actually, some of his understated performances where he's wonderfully charming as the romantic lead. My favorite sleeper hit that I'd highly recommend checking out is Dan in Real Life and if you haven't seen it already, Crazy, Stupid, Love with Ryan Gosling.

Steve Carrell's Summer Movie - The Way, Way Back

Keira Knightly Movies - Last Night Movie

Though this was not huge at the box office, the movie asks does a great job at conveying what's not being said and asks many open ended questions about love. Keira Knightly shines and Sam Worthington is wonderfully mesmerizing along with Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet.
