Song Sounds Like an Accordion Playing

Updated on March 28, 2011

The name of the song that sounds like an accordion playing is: Stereo Love. Since the name of the song is never heard in its lyrics the title has been a bit elusive. Seems everyone loves the song, but no one knows the name of it. The song is by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina and is indeed entitled Stereo Love. Some call it techno but most people just know that it sounds like it has an accordion playing and sounds a little bit European. People searching for the name of the song have described it as Italian, French, Spanish and even Irish. Some have a more broad term and simply say European.

Others search for the most recognizable lyrics such as, "baby I run, but I'm running to you," and "I'm hiding inside," or "When you gonna stop breaking my heart?" In any event, now you know. Lyrics to the Song Stereo Love

Hard to discern - here are a few

Many of the lyrics are hard to make out. The words are spoken rather softly by Vika Jigulina but there are a few that most people can pick up on such as:

When you gonna stop breaking my heart?

I don't want to be another one

Paying for the things I never done

But baby, baby I run, but I'm running to you

You won't see me cry, I'm hiding inside

My heart is in pain but I'm smiling for you

Oh baby I'll try to make the things right

I can't list them all because I can't hear them all!

More about "The Techno Accordion Song"

The One with the Elusive Name

There's just something about this song. It's hugely popular as a dance song especially in Europe, but also has a romantic appeal (did you see the video?). Recorded in 2009, "Stereo Love" is a song by musician Edward Maya (Romanian) featuring Vika Jigulina (Romanian, but born in Russia). It was released as Maya's debut single from his album of the same name. The basis for the song came from another song "Bayatilar" composed by musician Eldar Mansurov (more on that story below). The song quickly became a worldwide hit first in discos all over Europe. America soon followed and now the hunt is on by millions of fans to learn the name of the song.

A Copyright Issue with the Song

All Fixed Now

Oh it's all straightened out now, but there was a copyright issue with Edward Maya's Stereo Love song. It seems Maya heard an accordion version of a song entitled "Bayatilar" in 2009 and was fascinated by it. "Bayatilar" was composed by Eldar Mansurov (an Azerbaijani musician, composer and songwriter) in 1989 and released by a Brilliant Dadashova (an Azerbaijani pop singer). Smitten by the song, Maya says he tried to contact the author but failed due to his busy schedule.

Mansurov somehow learned about Maya's Stereo Love song and contacted the Romanian Office of Copyright (Edward Maya is Romanian). Maya later confirmed that Mansuov's Bayatilar was indeed used in the making of Stereo Love. The two gentlemen met and signed an agreement of co-authorship. All is well.

This is my first exposure to this song - I like it, though. I found this lens while searching for lenses on the keyword Accordion - because that's the word I chose for my Quest of Blessing things I love. :) Blessed!

What a fun song! My dad had played the accordion for years - there was no Techno back then, but he would have enjoyed it! Thanks for the nice lens!

This is another song I wondered about after I first heard it! I didn't know the name of it back then, but I loved the accordion-esque effects and the fast paced beat it had. I finally figured out what it was called by searching the web, but this is a great lens for people who are trying to find out what the name of the song is after hearing it. The song is very distinctive, and this is another one of my most recent favorites. Thanks again!
