Tame Impala Lonerism

Updated on December 7, 2012

New Album 2012 Tame Impala

The Australian Band that made their full lenght debut only in 2010 with the spectacular Innerspeaker has recently released a new album called Lonerism. You can listen to the tracks below. Lonerism is a remarkable album and distinctively different from their 1st album that is much more guitar driven. They still heavily rely on the 60's and 70's for musical inspiration but channel this into a new brand of music that is contemporary and nostalgic. Basically they bring a new take of psychedelic rock to the stage. Very very introspective psychedelic rock. These sound waves really want to make you light up, lay back and listen.

Tame Impala Lonerism - 2012 Album

Anyone who loves to hear Lennon or Pink Floyd will be delighted to discover Kevin Parker and Tame Impala. True revivalists of the 60's and 70's psychedelic rock that combine the best of one of the greatest eras of music with contempory technology and a modern take on experimentation.

2012 Album Tame Impala

Tame Impala was started as far back as 1999 by two 13 year olds in Perth. Kevin Parker and Dominic Simper stuck to bedroom recordings for 8 years untill Jay watson joined them on the drums and as backing vocal. The dreamy eerie rock songs seem to slowly drive you through a deserted Australian landscape. Kevin Parker is singing:

-Real life was such a grind,

Off i go, day is gone

Where a new one's just begun-

Lines like these flow easily:

-And i gotta bide my time as a face in the crowd

I'll just close my eyes and make so all these things don't affect me now-

Or in the song "Nothing that has happened so far has been anything we could control"

-Nothing ever changes

No matter how long you do your thing-

Lonerism suddenly seems an extremely obvious title. Life for Tame Impala happens to you and all you can do is endure it. With Lonerism you'll be able to endure it while listening to very beautiful songs. Hopefully that will make the whole thing a litte more bearable.

I haven't heard of Tame Impala before. But then, I'm way, way off when it comes to the music scene...
