Sheldon Cooper, played by the talented Jim Parson, is one of the funniest characters on tv and star of The Big Bang Theory. With his nervous facial tics, OCD behavior, and obsession with comic books he has warmed his ways into the hearts of millions of viewers. You may watch Sheldon Cooper on new episodes of The Big Bang Theory on CBS and now syndicated on TBS and WDCA.

Sheldon Cooper was born in the Spring of 1981 in Galveston, Texas.

Sheldon Cooper, B.S., M.S., M.A., Ph.D., Sc.D., is a theoretical physicist at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California. He works there with his best friends Leonard, Raj, and Howard. Sheldon, also known as Shelly, is a bright genius that started college at 11 and earned his first Ph.D. at 16. His mother, Mary Cooper, loves her son, Jesus Christ, Dr. Pepper, and Texas. Leonard refers to Mary as Sheldon's "Kryptonite." She often visits Sheldon when his friends call upon her for advice when dealing with Sheldon. Sheldon also has a twin sister ,Missy, an older brother, George Jr., and a loving Mee-Maw (his grandma). Sheldon currently has a girlfriend, Amy Farrah Fowler, hat has signed his girlfriend agreement.

Dr. Cooper's impressive career is focused on string theory. He respects the work of George Smoot, Stephen Hawking and Elizabeth Plimpton. He has won numerous awards (hopefully someday he will win the Nobel Prize) and won a prestigious grant from the National Science Foundation to lead an expedition to the Arctic Circle. Aside from Science, Sheldon loves comic books/comic heroes, trains, his specific spot on the couch in his apartment, Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Star Wars.

James Joseph Parsons was born on March 24, 1973 in Houston, Texas.

Jim Parsons' career began, at the mere age of 6, when he starred as a Kola-Kola bird in The Elephant's Child during a school play. He went on to study acting at Klein Oak High School, earned his BA from the University of Houston, and his MA from the University of San Diego. His first claim to fame was a 2003 Quiznos commercial. He went on to a recurring role on Judging Amy and made an appearance on Ed. Jim Parsons is best known as Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory but he has also starred on the big screen and Broadway. Jim has appeared in the movies Garden State, 10 Items or Less, School for Scoundrels, The Big Year, and The Muppets. He has been in the stage productions of Endgame, Guys and Dolls, The Normal Heart, and Harvey. Jim Parsons is the winner of 2 Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, TCA Award, and Critics Choice Award.
