About Patrick Jane - Star in this Crime Series

I like the entire Serious Crime Unit team on 'The Mentalist' but I have to admit that I love three (3) main characters in particular - Patrick Jane (played by Simon Baker), Teresa Lisbon (played by Robin Tunney) and Kimball Cho (played by Tim Kang).

When you watch 'The Mentalist', you’re bound to fall in love with Patrick Jane’s slow, mischievous and adorably cute smile. I look forward to it, whether it’s during one of his 'ah-ha' moments, or when he’s got a secret plan up his sleeves of how he'll catch the criminal, or when he’s trying to win Lisbon back or, best of all, when he’s speaking directly to the criminal and acting the fool, while the criminal thinks that he/she's still in the clear and no one has suspected him/her.

You can’t try anything around him! He’s got all sorts of tricks up his sleeve because he was a former successful conman, who claimed to be a psychic and medium. So he’s played all the tricks in the book plus some more, and knows a trick when he sees one. What a thing!

He has a laid back way about solving crimes, and doing things in general, that can be quite infuriating to everyone, including his female boss Lisbon who, I am quick to add, defends him fiercely because she trusts his decisions. If I can go further, I think they like each other – A LOT!!! They just don’t know it yet.

He has an ultimate goal, however. Patrick, who lost his wife and daughter, now lives to capture the mysterious 'Red John' killer who was responsible for their deaths as well as many others.

Sneak Peeks into Some Past Episodes

After watching this 1st scene, you'll be hooked!

Lisbon & Cho's Idiosyncrasies

I'd like to have a boss like Teresa Lisbon, who supports her Serious Crime Unit team fully and allows them leeway to do what they need to in order to get the job done - catching criminals. Patrick Jane, at times appears the loose cannon in her team when he just goes off and does things without consulting or telling anyone where he's going or what he's doing. On those occasions, no matter how annoyed Lisbon gets with him, he always finds a way to win her back on his side.

Kimball Cho has this expressionless face that he wears ALL the time, that's endearing in its own sort of quaint way. Sometimes, it just means he's listening attentively, sometimes it means 'duh' are you that stupid? Or, you must be crazy! One time it even meant 'I love you so much but I won't show my feelings' when he fell madly in love with a woman who was one of their cases. Underneath that expressionless exterior, though, Cho's got a lot of heart. He's mischievously sweet :)

How and when will they catch 'Red Jane'? Don't miss out on all the excitement! Get all the previous intriguing episodes, not just Season 2, and play catch up on this superb detective series you'll thank me for recommending to you.

Now don't you just LOVE Cho?

Now isn't this a good ending?

@Anthony J Vita: Thanks for visiting and sharing your favourite detective with us, AnthonyMD17. Patrick Jane professes to be psychic, so in keeping with this, it explains why his insights seem to come from 'nowhere'. I love them both. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday and have a blessed week ahead!

I think Mr. Monk beats Mr. Jane by a bit. What I like about Monk is that the show often will give you enough clues to solve the mystery, if you pay attention. Patrick Jane's insights seem to come out of nowhere sometimes!!

This is quite a fun show, although my favorite in this genre is Psyche.

Those are my 3 favorite characters, too. Red John is long gone, thank goodness, and it looks as if Patrick & Lisbon will be getting together -- at least, I hope so. Tonight is the season finale, & I hope they don't leave us hanging about who she chooses.

I love Cho, he's definitely my favorite on the team. This show is so much fun, with or without the Red John sub-plot. Even just investigating the regular crimes, I love watching Patrick work.
