Top 10 Inspirational Songs

Songs that Inspire Me

One of my favorite kind of song is a song that will inspire me. A song that will make me want to be a better person. A song that will want to make me do something with my life. These are some of the songs that inspire me the most. I like to listen to them; if you are not familiar with the music that made my list, I hope that you would check them out, maybe you would like them too.

They're not in any particular order.

Uncommon - Greg Long and Christy Starling

I don't know about you, but I don't want to live an ordinary life. That's one of the reasons why I love this song so much. There are so many people out there that are willing to lie to get gain; I want to tell the truth, even when it's hard. I want to homeschool my kids even though it pays nothing, because it's the right thing to do. When I think about people that really made a difference in life, they often do the uncommon thing.

Uncommon the Book

Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance

Which came first, the book or the song? I think the song was written for the book. I haven't had the chance to read it. Amazon reviews say that this book is mostly geared towards guys, but can benefit anyone.

Fifteen - Greg Long

This song inspires me to tell others about Jesus. There are a few people in my life that I care about a lot, but I'm worried about them, because they don't know the Lord. I know that there are so many other people that have unsaved friends like I do. I'm not very good at talking to people though, so I'm not good at this one. I don't even like talking to strangers on the telephone. I can tell other people about Jesus by writing about him though... perhaps that is what I'm meant to do.

Don't Let Me Miss the Glory - Gordon Mote

I love this song. If it starts playing while I'm driving in my car, I just like to take a look at all the wonderful things in the world that God has made (while keeping an eye on the road in front of me, of course). What makes this song so much more amazing is that the singer is a blind man. There are wonderful things in this world that you can't see with just your eyes.

If We've Ever Needed You - Casting Crowns

I don't think that there's ever been a Casting Crowns song that I've heard that I don't like. This song is more relevant than ever. Life is difficult for a lot of people. If it's not financial troubles, people are having trouble with alcohol, or relationship problems, or anger, or something else. We need God now more than ever... although I suppose if we ever get to the point where we don't think that we need God, we really need him then too.

God of This City - Blue Tree

I love this song because it makes me think about how, no matter how dark this world gets, God is still the God of this world. Even if they build a mosque on every street in America, God is still God, and people can't change that. I think of the places in the world where you can die for following God... he's still the God of that city too. I like to remind myself of that from time to time. He's greater than anything that we can do.

If you want to hear the song without talking over it, you can buy the song at the end of this page.

Blink - Revive

Life goes by pretty fast. Once it's over, we don't get any second chances. Although those of us that have been forgiven by Jesus will go to Heaven, our work on Earth and ability to do things to impact others will be done. This song inspires me to think about how fast life goes by, and try to make every second count.

Fingerprints of God - Stephen Curtis Chapman

I like this song because it reminds me of how everyone is special and loved in God's eyes. I'd love to one day create a video to this song showing pictures of all sorts of people... from supermodels to handicapped people and even those with physical deformities. God loves us all, and he doesn't care what we look like. That's what this song makes me think of.

Forgiveness - Jim Witter

It's so sad when we drift away from friends. It's even sadder if we cut off a relationship because we can't forgive someone. I love this song. I don't think that there's anybody that I haven't forgiven, but if I can think of one, it would be a good idea for me to forgive them.

Always - Building 429

Sometimes things in our life seem to be difficult, but no matter what happens, God is always good. When things are difficult, this song is a good reminder that God is always good.

The Story Behind "Always"

I thought that this was pretty good.

There Will Come a Day - Melinda Doolittle

Someday the Lord will be coming back. I'm looking forward to that day, when I can see the Lord in Heaven. I pray that my friends and loved ones that haven't chosen Jesus will change their minds and be there with me, but I know that when that day comes, it's going to be a good day. I love this song, because it reminds me that someday, there will come a very good day when I will see the Lord. With the way the world is going, I don't think that it will be very long from now.

For some reason, Greg Long's song "Fifteen" isn't available as a single on iTunes. If you want the album, you can get it from Amazon instead.

There are so many to choose from - right now my favorites are "To Know Your Name" by Hillsong United and "I Will Follow You" by Chris Tomlin.

I'm torn between 'Uncommon' and 'Forgiveness'. I agree with every word in both of them. These truly are some great inspirational songs. Thank you for sharing them.

This is a very inspiring lens. I liked the song Blink.

My father recently passed away and this song hits home. I have been doing a lot of thinking over the last week and after listening to this song it just ties everything together.

I know now that I need to love every second that I am living and appreciate every moment with the people that I care for.

      Awesome lens. Thumbs up.
