A List of The Best Brain Power Movies

What are the limits of human mind? Can we go past them? How do extraordinary smart people think and act? Here is a list of the top 5 brain enhancement movies.

Each of these movies tries to answer some (or all) of the questions above.

In this lens, the movies are ranked by the percentage of five-star Amazon customer reviews.

Good Will Hunting - A Janitor Rocket Scientist

The reality of this movies' plot is combined with the real performances of Minnie Driver, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Robin Wiliams. Heartfelt, touching, and smart.

A tale of a troubled young man who struggles to find his identity. His photographic memory and extremely high IQ allow him to solve pretty much any problem his friends throw at him. However, he cannot solve his own problems with such ease. Until he meets a professor (Robin WIlliams), and a girl (Minnie Driver).

A Beautiful Mind - A Mathematical Genius' Life Story, Based on True Events

One of the best Russel Crowe movies, A Beautiful Mind is based on a true story of a mathematical genius John Nash, who won the Nobel prize. This drama is both poignant and suspensful. It won 4 academy awards. Everyone should see this film. It's well worth your time.

A Beautiful Mind

Limitless - From a Bum to a Superstar

An aspiring writer meets an old acquaintance and receives an illegal drug which enhances his mind and gives him unbelievable abilities. But someone's watching...

For me, this is easily the best movie in the last couple of years. And the one movie in particular that inspired this lens. Starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, and Robert De Niro.

Limitless

Phenomenon - An Ordinary Man Turns Extraordinary

In one interview, John Travolta said that the character in the movie reminds him a lot of himself. It's a story of a small town average Joe, who suddenly becomes genius, after witnessing a phenomenon in the sky...

Phenomenon

Sherlock Holmes 2009 - A Masterful Depiction of The Legendary Detective

Directed by Guy Ritchie and masterfully played by Robert Downey Jr, Sherlock Holmes has it all: intrigue, suspense, wit, action, and a delightful new depiction of how the famous detective's mind operates (have a look at the boxing scene and you'll see what I mean).

I really love this movie.

Have not seen Limitless, but I love your other 4 choices. A Beautiful Mind is one of my all time favorite movies. Such a brilliant concept in the "reveal".

@freeaudiobooks: It's been a while since I've seen Good Will Hunting. It's probably even better than Limitless. But I've seen Limitless a few weeks ago, and GWH... It's been a few years.

I'll make sure to check it out again soon, it's in my DVD collection.

      Thanks for stopping by!
