Top 5 Rock Vocalists That Ever Lived

Updated on December 12, 2012

The 5 Greatest Rock Vocalists Of All Time

I have been a huge fan of rock music and have been listening to it for years now, rock music definitely changed my life and my perspective of music, so I want to share my experience, knowledge and opinion about the best rock singers that I know of.

I haven't put it into some specific order or listed the "number one" singer and the "number five" because they are all exceptionally good and I have ultimate respect for all of them. My idea of this article is for all of you rock fans and of those that just want to know, discuss and share their own personal opinions about their favourite singers, rock bands or style perhaps, all of those rock bands are really great and non of them suck. I hope you enjoy my list of the greatest singers of all time and would like to share your own views about them. Have fun!

Axl Rose

King of High Pitch

Axl Rose is the lead singer of a huge rock band, Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose is definitely my favourite performer ever, but also my favourite vocalist. Many know Axl's screaming and high-pitched falsetto voice, and let me tell you, Axl is probably one of greatest vocalists that ever lived on the face of this planet. Axl used his head-voice to sing in the first days of his music career, but later on he tried singing in falsetto with that high-pitch voice, his band members noticed it and really liked the style, and so Axl started using his falsetto as his main voice and it worked for him well.

Axl Rose still sings today but his voice isn't the same as it was back in the 80's and 90's, now his voice is much thinner and doesn’t have the power that he used to.

Guns N' Roses, Sweet Child O' Mine

If you like Guns N' Roses

If you like them and want to get some good Guns N' Roses music I added the their first album just below!

This album is my favourite of GnR and it rocks.

Freddie Mercury

The One And Only

Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of Queen until he died in 1991, RIP Freddie. Freddie Mercury has been a big influence on me personally and my view towards music, to me he is a role-model and one of the greatest singers of all time.

Freddie Mercury had definitely one of the nicest sounding voices ever, he has written so much of brilliant work and has been an inspiration to millions of people all around the globe. Freddie will always be in our hearts.

Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody

If you like Queen

Here are Queen's greatest hits, these songs are amazing and one of the world's most recognized.

If you want to get the greatest hits of Queen the link is just below!

Brad Delp Singing

Brad Delp

Underrated But One of The Best

Brad Delp was the lead singer of Boston until he died in 2007. Brad Delp had a lot of soul and passion when he sang, he was also known for his high vocal range. Brad Delp and his band started making a lot of great music and known hits that started becoming number one hits.

I can’t explain how good his music is but he is definitely remembered for his great hits, voice and personality.

Brad Delp is really underrated for his vocal abilities, because nobody talks about him a lot when it comes to vocalists but he is one of the greatest there ever was.

Boston, More Than A Feeling

If you like Boston

Here are Boston’s greatest hits, it has some of the greatest tunes of rock ever!

If you want to get their greatest hits the link is just below!

Klaus Meine

The Unique Tenor Voice

Klaus Meine is the lead singer of the hard rock band Scorpions. Klaus Meine is known for his high-pitched tenor voice, he is also ranked 22nd best heavy metal vocalist of all time. Klaus Meine's voice is really a one-of-a-kind-voice, there really, simply is just no other vocalist with a unique voice like his. He can sing really high stuff but also can sing really low-pitched, slow songs. For me Klaus Meine is definitely in my top three, but that's just for me, because all people have different tastes and likes.

Scorpions, No One Like You

If you like Scorpions

Here is a collection of the greatest hits of Scorpions. Scorpions are an amazing band and if you have never listened to more of their songs get their music right here! The link is just below!

Lou Gramm Singing

Lou Gramm

The Soul of Rock

Lou Gramm was the lead singer for a huge, multi-million rock band, Foreigner. Lou Gramm I would say has the most powerful head-voice there ever was or will ever be. Lou Gramm sings with so much strength, passion and soul that makes Lou Gramm one of those few, unique, rare artists and vocalists that has ever lived. When I hear Lou Gramm sing it just amazes me with how much passion and soul he does it, and he is one of those artists which you listen to and remember some great memories in your life, that’s because he does it with so much passion for his songs. Lou Gramm is also a very underrated vocalist like Brad Delp or even more, but the truth is that he is one of the greatest singers to walk this earth. Lou Gramm had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in 1997 which led to a surgery which has seriously affected Lou's voice, so Lou Gramm cannot sing with that power anymore these days but he had his time and he will always be a living legend of rock and never be forgotten.

Foreigner, I Want To Know What Love Is

If you like Foreigner

Here are the greatest hits of Foreigner, for me Foreigner is one of the most soulful and emotional bands ever.

If you want to get Foreigner's greatest hits its just below!

I pretty much have to agree. I'm so thankful that I got to see Brad Delp before he died, and he was still able to hit those high notes. What a talent. Lou Gramm still tours and was able to see him as well. He can't hit those notes like he used to, but he is still amazing.

All very deserving...especially Lou Gramm. But I would have to include a couple of old school rock greats like Elvis & John Lennon.

I like David's Top 5 better too! Sorry AXL Rose is not what I would consider a top vocalist. Lou Gramm is by far the top vocalist in my opinion. He has a unique and power voice that is impossible to replicate. Sorry Kelly Hansen!

I like David's list. Was thinking Paul Rodgers needed to be on there, but of course, seeing his list, and being reminded of Steve Perry, Ann Wilson, and of course, Robert Plant, I think he nailed it. But without a doubt, Lou Gramm should be on this list. You both got that right!
