Huey Lewis And The News!!!!

Huey Lewis and the News were one of THE bands in the 1980s. The sharp suits, the great lyrics, the awesome videos. Somehow he has never gotten the credit he deserves in my opinion, so fueled by lack of sleep and a lot of coffee I figured I'd put together a fun lens.

Even if my readership did break my heart by not loving Max Rabbe every bit as much as I do, I bet there are quite a few Huey Lewis fans out there. Yes, this lens is total fluff with no redeeming value. Because I feel good today, and Huey's music is calling to me. Enjoy!

PS So it can be my entry for a lensmaster quest I'm picking the voice of Huey Lewis as my favorite musical instrument. Yes, the human voice is an instrument.

Huey Lewis and The News - LITTLE BITTY PRETTY ONE (live)

I think Huey Lewis and the News did an awesome job on this one. For those of you who weren't around it was a pretty big thing to do classic rock in the 1980s. Of course I'm including the original song so you can figure out if you like this version. Listen to him hit those notes! This cat can really swing.

Huey Lewis And The News - If This Is It

Huey Lewis often included a touch of the absurd in his videos. The lyrics could be breaking your heart, but the videos could be funny while making a point. Here he doesn't get the girl he loves, but gets a girl who loves him. Perfect song for putting the moves on your guys, ladies. Told you this would be fluffy.

Back To The Future - The Power Of Love

The 1980s were a magical time to be a young girl. You had hot bands like Huey Lewis, and cute guys like Michael J. Fox. Though I always had a bigger crush on Doc Brown, which tells you all you need to know about my taste in men. Anyhow, enjoy these two classics together.

Huey Lewis And The News - I Want A New Drug

San Fran never had it so good! Here Huey Lewis romps around town, being all wolfy, then sings to another guy's girl because he can. These videos were a lot of fun, and I'm assuming he is laughing at himself here like he is in most videos. Though the first few seconds of the video, Good Lord!

Huey Lewis And The News - Doing It All For My Baby

One of his longer videos, and of course, more absurd fun. The boys are out one day and happen upon some trouble. There's a singing Doctor Frankenstein and everything here. Enjoy the movie bit the music comes on soon enough.

Huey Lewis and the News Music

Huey Lewis And The News - Heart And Soul

Still a fan favorite and played on 3WS almost daily. I swear, listen to them on iheartradio if you don't believe me. Did I mention I like him in a suit? I did? Because I really like him in a suit. I also love this song, even if he reminds me of a shark in the video. OK the last bit also reminds me of Doctor Who for some reason. I need to drink less coffee.

Huey Lewis And The News - Do You Believe In Love

Cough, cough, wheeze! Just about spit out my coffee at around 1:51. I forgot how funny, yet creepy and scary this video was. Makes you wonder exactly why I love the song so much. I mean it is an awesome song, but the video! Loving it anyhow, even though I missed the implications when I was like, six or seven. Dear Lord!

Huey Lewis And The News - Bad Is Bad

I love this song and I think MTV played it once, and it never got airtime around here. But it is 1980s' pop, doo wop, blues, and everything else all brought together in one glorious train wreck. I mean that in a good way. These things shouldn't fit, but somehow they do. So it is more like seeing the train wreck, then piece itself back together. Yeah, need less coffee.

Huey Lewis And The News - Hip To Be Square

There are no words to describe the video, none I can think of at any rate. But the song WAS everything good about the '80s. Fun, driving fast, but all about a sense of eternal summer, or at least eternal coolness. A track for those of you who still have the spirit if not the clothes. But the clothes were awesome.

Huey Lewis And The News - It Hit Me Like A Hammer

I love the visual styling on this video. Also the song is another track that never got massive radio play, at least in this area. But there is a good feeling to it. Sort of like the song itself is a man with a lot of swagger. Hey, it is 6AM and I'm tanked up on coffee. You're lucky I'm typing in English.

Huey Lewis & the News - National Anthem - Bonus video!!!

Makes you proud to be American, doesn't it?
