Rock Your Wagon Wheel with True Believers, Darius Rucker

Updated on January 2, 2014

I can't help but close my eyes when I listen to Darius Rucker and imagine the smell of the cool mountain air in my lungs. I grew up spending a lot of time in the mountains near Cumberland Gap, Virginia and my grandmother had an old beat up Chevy Truck. My uncle, Joey, who was only a few years older than me, and I would ride in the back of the Chevy standing up behind the window holding on to the roof. With country music blaring and the wind in our hair, we felt invincible. With songs like "True Believers", and everyone's personal favorite, "Wagon Wheel", you too will feel that cool mountain air on your face and the freedom that it brings. With your honey singing "Rock me like a wagon wheel", you will be wanting to make your own wagon wheel original soundtrack, just like the used to do it back in the day. A beat up guitar, a cool glass or sweet iced tea, and a front porch swing is all you would need. Darius Rucker is by far my favorite artist. With the Wagon Wheel video getting thousands and thousands of hits a month, it is obvious that I am not the only one that shares this opinion. Across the United States and far beyond, Darius Rucker has shown Bob Dylan Wagon Wheel can be made into an even bigger hit song than Dylan might have thought when he wrote some of these lyrics over forty years ago. Perhaps this album is a bit of both worlds all wrapped up into one fresh breath of mountain air.
