Lyrics for These Boots Were Made For Walkin

Lyrics

Nancy Sinatra

You keep saying you've got something for me.

something you call love, but confess.

You've been messin' where you shouldn't have been a messin'

and now someone else is gettin' all your best.

These boots are made for walkin, and that's just what they'll do

one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

You keep lying, when you oughta be truthin'

and you keep losin' when you oughta not bet.

You keep samin' when you oughta be changin'.

Now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet.

These boots are made for walkin, and that's just what they'll do

one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

You keep playin' where you shouldn't be playin

and you keep thinkin' that you´ll never get burnt.

Ha! I just found me a brand new box of matches yeah

and what he knows you ain't HAD time to learn.

Are you ready boots? Start walkin'!

Lee Hazelwood passed away last weekend at the age of 78. He was best known for this classic tune, but enjoyed a long and successful career... with and without Nancy.

NO matter what one thought of her political leanings, you just have to admit that this was one dynamite song! Reading the words and keeping the music out (if that's possible) almost makes it sound like a "new" song, huh? Almost gangsta, but we all know the truth...I remember the day it came out!

Ah,yes, Nancy Sinatra. I liked the sauciness of the song back then, a reflection on the new wave of strong women takin' charge of their lives. I was so-o-o-o disappointed when she went blonde, because she was prettier brunette. Made me sad that the industry got to her that way.
